Prototype

Greetings all this chilly Saturday night~~~

I have been experimenting somewhat.... Wool felt. I have a few pieces and often use it in my finishing..However, I have never "made" anything with it.  Until recently.....

I wanted to know if I could zipper it, put a lining in it and even attach a piece of cross stitch to it....
So, this latest experiment produced this....

It actually is a really pretty shade of burnt red....I dug in my cross stitched oldies and came up with this Prairie Schooler Heart in Hand design I had stitched many moons ago...Remember those wool felt mitten toppers??  Well, I never used this one and there it layed...

The colors matched, so I practiced my blanket stitch with it, and on it went~ Nice accent, I thought...

And, of course I lined the small pouch for added protection from scissors or what-nots poking through the wool.....I am still on a learning curve about wool felt....

I wanted to show you this version of this small pouch accessory piece...Nice to have on hand to hold about anything....

On a personal note, my family needs prayers for my mom....She fell recently and broke her hip...I wish we lived closer to one another....Its been quite some time since she knew any of us...Alzheimers is an awful disease.... Thanks guys.

Soon it will be Sunday....Don't forget to turn those clocks up an hour~~

Many blessings,

Faye

My mom has dementia, and it is so hard to see that happen to someone you love so much. I will keep both of you in my prayers. The pouch is lovely! I love that color, and you chose a perfect design for it. Take care, Faye. Things will be all right.

What an adorable pouch Faye. You are always so creative. Sorry I haven't been able to order my zipper bag from you. Between being sick most of the time from the kids at the daycare and all of life's other needs, I haven't gotten around to it :(
Sending prayers your way for your mom and hope she has a speedy recovery.

That is just the sassy-est project bag!! Oo la la, I love the black check inside that deep red. You are a tease! Great touch with the heart in hand accent.

Enjoy your sunday.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Sending her my prayers. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, my grandfather has it and it's most difficult on my Nana, his beloved wife.

Faye, my heart goes out to you. My mom is in the final stages of Alzheimer's, so I know the journey you are on. I can't count the quilts and cross stitch projects that have been worked with prayers and thoughts of her on my mind.

Your wool bag is luscious. Is there anything you can't do wonderfully?!!!

Love it! I think you did a great job with the wool felt.

My thoughts are with your family. My great grandmother died from Alzheimer's...and breaking her hip was a part of that decline. I wonder why those two things seem to go together?

I am so sorry about your mom!!!! My DH's grandmother has alzheimer's too, it's a terrible disease. Big hugs and lots of prayers.

The wool felt pocket is gorgeous!!! I wonder since you are lining it anyway, could you put some fusible interfacing on the inside just for some extra stability or would it be too thick????

Your wool felt pouch is beautiful, Faye! I'm very impressed--and love the little PS design you've embellished it with!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Since I'm going through the same thing with my dad (also very far away) I know how hard and heartbreaking this disease is on the entire family. In fact, often it is worse on the family because the patient really doesn't know how bad things have become... I'll be thinking of you--and if you ever want to "talk" just email me...

I'm impressed with your felt bag. I would never have dared to try to sew something like that. It'ls looking great.

I'm sorry about your Mom. My grandma broke her hip several years ago and it was hard enough dealing with the way the meds made her act, without having the heartbreak of a disease like Alzheimer's to make it even worse. My heart, and my prayers, go out to you.

I am sorry to hear about your Mom's injury. I hope she will have a speedy recovery. Alzheimer's is such a difficult disease, it is hard on every person in the family. My grandmother had Alzheimer's for the last ten years of her life and it broke my heart. My thoughts are with both of you.
