Many of you subscribe to "Just Cross Stitch" magazine....honestly, this was my last issue just because their designs are not really representative of "me" anymore.... BUT, when I saw this cute design by Sandra Sullivan of Homspun Elegance, I knew it was a must stitch.... It is found in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue.... She chose a nice silk brown where I knew mine would be in red...
...please excuse the wrinkles.... And you might see another slight deviation from the design....
...I googled spider web rosettes.... Practiced on a scrap piece of linen..... And stitched in place of the called for tulips.....
...isn't this Autumn Red by Victorian Motto simply gorgeous....and I know exactly how I will finish this one up.... But it will first take a little prep work...hmmm.....
I had promised myself to stitch at least one red stitch a month this year..... Since Nicola is celebrating her "Scarlet Letter Year", I thought it would be a perfect year for me to add more scarlett goodies to my red's basket also... I am so enjoying stitching Rebecca Robinson by Scarlet Letter..... I will return to stitching her today.... And tonight during Downton Abby.....
....And, I wanted to share with you a company, thanks to my enabling friend Marly....
Firecracker Kid Primitives Firecracker Kid Primitives makes some of the most beautiful wood creations..... A Floss Box of theirs is VERY high on my must-have-one-day list..... Extremely nice and responsive folks.... Reasonably priced with lots of color and design options.... I invite you to visit them and dream right along with me... (And, no, this is in no way a paid endorsement!)
Well.... A couple things are shouting from my to-do list.... Hope your Sunday is fantastic......
Blessings,
Faye

I love what you did with that design -- just gorgeous! The red is wonderful too! I am also tempted by the floss box and other things that company offers. So tempting!
A very nice farewell to JCS. Great idea to use red and substitute the roses. Look forward to seeing your finish. I had fun at the Firecracker site, too. Did you see that she was looking to barter for slipcovers??
That is such a cute design! I love Sandra's designs and need to stitch more of them instead of just collect them! The spider roses are so fun to do.
What a lovely finish Faye! I love the colour that you picked.

JCS, I know, right? I opened up this issue and felt thrown back into the 80s. Yuck. I read they were taken over by another company, and decided I won't renew as well.
