Seeing red...... Again....

....happy Saturday and greetings from North Carolina!....

welcome new followers and those who take the time to comment! Happy to have you on board and as always, thanks you for the kind words.... Words that I find so inspirational....

I was so very touched by a Random Act if Kindness from Peggy Lee the other week..... Her talent in painting/staining/distressing ( along with stitching of course!)...well, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.... Please click on photo for best view...

...the sweetest Burnt Red box....

I absolutely love anything red... And Peggy Lee hit the nail on the head! This treasure lives in my craft room now...

...my prized collection of antique bone buttons are safely preserved.... Thank you Peg, from the bottom of my heart...

And, as promised, I finished off my recent red stitch ( see previous post).... I discovered an old, somewhat beat up wooden box at a thrift store.... Not knowing what I'd use it for, but the red along with the patina was perfect...

...no telling who had owned it, where it had been... I just knew for the price tag of a dollar, it was mine... It was perfect for...

I put special scrap booking paper inside.....as I wanted to use this wonderful box to store items in the craft room...

..perhaps my scissors will be placed inside....

So, my two new goodies are happy together and serving a very useful purpose..

....I hope you enjoy you weekend.....

Blessings......

  5. Hi Faye,
I just read your recent post and then went to the previous one. I could't believe my eyes when I saw my design from the Just Cross Stitch article. I was touched by your kind comments and so thrilled that you liked my design.
Love the way you finished the corners - very clever as usual. Putting it on a box was a great idea as well. May I ask where you got the large red chenille?
Thanks so much for blogging about my design. I wish I could make it available to everyone, but of course they have to buy the magazine. Have had a lot of requests for it. I am very grateful to Just Cross Stitch for wanting me to be the first designer in their year long celebration of 30 years of publishing.
    Blessings,

  8. Such a pretty heart box! That shade of red is gorgeous. It was a very thoughtful gift and looks like it was meant exactly for your button collection.
Your box finish is beautiful. I love that thicker chenille trim. You always seem to find the perfect item for your finishes. We don't have any of those kind of thrift shops around here.
