~~~Turkey Love~~~
The infamous Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers, has done it again!!! This cute design, with the knobby knee turkeys really caught my eye at the PALS retreat last month..... But, when I got the big 'ole sad face because all the charts were sold out, I guess someone was noticing.... In the mail, a sweet angel gifted me this design and I perked right up and I began my turkey love adventure......
I finished it last night and couldn't wait to show you my turkey delight...
Like many of you, I don't really have many Thanksgiving pieces, so I wanted to pop him in a frame and get things rollin' since Thanksgiving is a mere 12 days away!!
Have you ever taken a journey in your house trying to find the best photo backdrop or angle??? Well, I did that this morning and saw shadows and glares everywhere....
Here's how things went....bear with me....
Went outside, but too much glare...
Tried laying it flat, but can still see the clouds in the sky in the reflection...
Oh my!! You can even see the tree and leaves in the reflection of this shot!!That's not going to cut it!
Tried laying him down in the flowers....nope, don't like that angle at all!
So ,I came back inside and found a little better look than those outside shots.....Still have a reflection though....guess I need to take a photography class!~~~
Well, that's it for today guys..... I hope your Sunday is wonderful and you find time for yourself...
It's a beautiful today in the Carolinas and my head cold is so much better...
I may venture outside and breathe in that sweet Fall southern air~~
Faye
PS: Did I mention I had a little something prim on my staging table in the craft room? Well....I do and I can't wait to share its finish with you next week........imagine the smell of pine trees....
you get the picture......
Faye,
ReplyDeleteYou are so freaking FAST! I am in awe of how quickly you get projects done and then put a "finish" on them.
I have to limit my sewing time because of my arthritis and fibromyalgia, which make me so sad. But one of your readers did turn me on to the Virginia retreat to Williamsburg in February and I am going with some kind of ointment and a special crafting glove and I'm going to stitch for three days if it kills me!
Very, very pretty, as usual. Did you do your own framing?
Wasn't the retreat just last week or the week before? Your needle has been flying! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove Turkey love.
ReplyDeleteOh yes its drives me mad taking photos.
great finish Faye! those smokin hot needles have done it again! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful finish Faye - the frame suits it well. I have a tough time taking good photos too. Maybe Paulette will come to the retreat again next year and give a little lesson on photography. :o)
ReplyDeleteYou stitched that so fast! It's such a sweet design,but I'll be stitching mine for next year. Definitely won't make it to the hoop for this Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You got that done so fast, and so beautifully!! I need to stitch some Thanksgiving pieces too. I only have one little tuck pillow -poor me - LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, I am always looking for an appropriate place to take the pictures. And now, something is up with my camera, and it takes forever between pushing the button and the actual snap - bummers!
The turkey piece is really cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely Faye :)
ReplyDeleteThe Belle Soie silks are so pretty as is the linen you chose.
ReplyDeletej'adore et le cadre aussi
Love the piece. Great stitching and fast. I know what you mean about taking pictures. Sometimes it is just so hard to get it just right.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish... it looks fabulous. I can't wait to stitch my own Turkey Love.
ReplyDeleteI love your finish -- I have this chart waiting for me at my LNS. lol about trying to take pictures. Don't you hate the reflection problem? I can never find the perfect angle!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Faye - love it. x
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter how you stage the photo - the finish is what counts, and it is great! Glad someone so kind knew you wanted the pattern, as I can see why it was calling your name. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love that Turkey Love! However, I have sworn myself to no new patterns for awhile :(! It is beautiful! Thank you for your lovely comment about my Margaret Cottam Sampler.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute finish Faye! I have very few Thanksgiving decorations, so I may need to get that cute chart!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully stitched and framed!
ReplyDeleteI also need lessons on photo taking, always not satisfied with the ones taken, ha! ha!
Hugs,
Your Turkey Love piece is just LOVEly! You are indeed a fast stitcher.... don't know what I do wrong, but it takes me forever.... I did finish one quick T'giving piece this year... now I just have to get it framed!!
ReplyDeleteYour finished piece is absolutely splendid! And photographed beautifully.
ReplyDeleteUpon my word, how are you able to finish so quickly? Do you sprinkle pixie dust on your needles?
Wishing you a delightful week Faye...
Warmly,
Judy
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are truly the one of flying stitches! It is adorable! I'm with you on those glares. I always notice people saying they have to wait until the can get outside to take pics -- I have a hard enough time INside. Can't wait to see what you have queued up in the craft room... maybe the tree all filled with ornies? Take care!
