A start.....

Greetings fellow friends and stitchers.....
Whew! Tired of rain, that's for sure~~ It has been a messy weekend, but brighter days are ahead.....

I spent alot of time in the craftroom today....Speaking of craftroom, several of you have asked me show pictures of my little corner of heaven....Where I am not ready to show my desk, sewing machine, shelves of supplies and baskets of stash, I can show you a few photos of the things on my walls of the space. I find inspiration in my surroundings, so I have primarily samplers....My dear husband made me a ledge of sorts where I can lean the pictures and move them around as I see fit.... Sure beats putting a gabillion holes in the wall....

My patriotic tree sits on my desk where I can gaze at alot of the small finishes perched in its branches..

Some of my old samplers are my favorites...

So.....There are a few of the framed pieces I have on the walls of my creative space....

**********************

I did manage to get a quick start going this weekend.....I plan on attaching this one to one of my new hornbooks.....Its a design I have wanted to do for some time by Erica Michaels....

Random Thoughts of Spring...

(oh my~~ That is a very poor quality photo....sorry....)

Thanks for visiting and your kind words...I am always anxious to read your feedback... I truly do appreciate hearing from everyone....

Here's hoping everyone has a great week~~~

  1. I love the shelf your husband built you! It's a great idea and holes aside - it's hard to get framed pieces perfectly straight and just so. Looking forward to seeing pics of the rest of your space! :)

  3. I can certainly see how you'd find inspiration with all the samplers. I love the idea of the ledge to sit them on. I wouldn't want to show my desk, closet or anything else in my craft room right now so I completely understand. ;-)

  4. Faye - That shelf is so very clever - it looks as though it has a lip in the front so the pieces do not fall off - and looks to be quite narrow - extremely clever - it allows you to change out seasonally or whenever the spirit moves you and always have a display. Random Thoughts is on my "Must Stitch Someday" list.

  5. Thanks so much for the first peeks into your stitching room. This comes at a perfect time for me. My office/fabric keep room is a mess. It has too much stuff all over the place and I have been saying for months, well years really, that I have to go through things, weed out, and organize.

After seeing the couple of photos that you shared, two things hit me immediately: first, my room must have a plan, and second, it must have beauty and inspiration. I'm going to mentally work on these, but start weeding out in the meantime. How wonderful it would be to have this area organized, inviting and comforting to me, and worth of sharing photos. Thanks for the inspiration.

P.S. I could never show pix of my desk! Unimaginable...at this point anyway.

  45. The shelf is a perfect solution to less nail holes. Your collection of samplers looks wonderful. I like the idea of being able to switch around the placement of the samplers.
    Pretty new start.

  46. I love the idea of a ledge to display all of your samplers on. So much better than putting holes in the wall, and is really a nice way to display a grouping.

  47. That shelf is just the most perfect solution to displaying samplers (and other things). My husband is so anal about holes in the wall (even those teeny tiny ones made by the museum hangers) that he spazzes out. This looks like the perfect solution.

Am looking forward to seeing yur sewing room.

  60. Faye, your samplers are lovely. It is nice to be able to move them around. Maybe your husband can do a tutorial on how to make the ledge. We can get our husbands to watch it. Well those with handy husbands can. Mine will hold the tools for me and tell me all about his last round of golf. :).
