Sewing Bird finish... With a twist~~

...Greetings... I'm feeling springy today!!

Most of you know how much I love Brenda Gervais designs... And, I am seeing that SO many if you do as well..... When the "Sewing Bird" piece came across my finishing table, I decided it needed a little punch..... Here's what I came up with~~

image
...Now, you may recognize elements of this finish that remind you of her design "Dame of the Needles".... I just LOVE that design also!!

image
...I love the inside pocket as well as the cotton lace wrapped pin cushion and ties for your scissors~

image
The pocket is dressed up with a hand appliquéd red bird.... With a threaded needle charm in his beak... I just love reds.....

image
I can't get enough of the old antiqued buttons.....

image
Tiny spools of red thread are attached to the end of the stained seam tape... It's the little touches that stand out sometimes.....

image
This is a sweet piece.... And, if you're not a "reds"fan, the soft tans and greens would work equally well when finishing this design.....

....more to come~.......

  10. Faye,

I've spent a lot of time looking over your blog tonight. Thank you for all the inspiration. I was at PALS in 2012 but didn't get an opportunity to meet you.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures and ideas.
