Second post of the morning.....

Spring themed smalls
Seasonal exchange

I had meant to post this picture of some of my stitched pieces I will be finishing today... So that my exchange partner will not put two and two together I thought I would offer a sneak peak...Here they are in no particular order..............Happy Sunday everyone, Faye

This weeks Quaker progress~~

A Quaker Christmas
ByGone Stitches
Victorian Motto Sampler Threads
First, I would like to thank all the many people who take time to write comments to me about my posts! It means so, so much to me and I may not get to respond to each everyone of you in a timely fashion but know I feel your smiles and encouragement every time I read them... Thank you very very much~~ ((Hugs...))

It has been a productive week... I have enjoyed the Olympics about every night this past week and therefore have had lots of time to devote to this red Quaker.... Oh, several people have emailed me about the scissors..I found them on Yuko's blog Be-Happy...They are inexpensive and if they are in stock, she is very efficient in getting them to you...go check it out~~

coffee stained 36 ct linen design: 19 x 12

Here is a snap of the entire piece...sorry for the wrinkles in the fabric...If you click on the picture you can get an up close shot and may even see some of my coffee stains I baked into the fabric a few weeks back.......I plan on omitting some of the Christmas words from the original piece and making it my own with family names and such..

Today I hope to finish some finishes back in the craft room...I have one exchange piece to complete and get out within the next 2 weeks...so, more info to follow on that in the future.. Many of you made it to your LNS yesterday for lots of stash purchasing ..... I am so jealous!!~~~ Dont you worry though....I am putting together my list and maybe soon I will burning up my debit card too~~

Here's hoping everyone enjoys the last day of February!~ Think spring...its around the corner~~~ Love to all, Faye

My first start of 2010

ByGone Stitches
36ct coffee stained linen
Red Victorian Motto Sampler overdyed threads
I have been SO good about not starting anything new this year I decided to pull out this Quaker that I have been wanting to begin since getting it back in Oct at the Pals Retreat. Very simply done, it will be monochromatic using threads I purchased from Ebay called Victorian Motto Sampler Threads. I really love them!~~
Well, short and sweet today..... Have a happy Tuesday night watching the Olympics!~~ Hugs from North Carolina~~~ Faye

My Lady Quaker is a happy girl!~

My Lady Quaker
Jardin Prive Designs
40 ct Lakeside Light Exemplar
GAST Dark Chocolate/Holly Berry
Well, here is my latest completion!!! My Lady Quaker (I call her lil ms thang~~!) was completed in the last few days...sorry for the "wavy" photo...I guess either I didnt have her laying down flat or she was shaking those hips at me!~ Anyway, I was pleased with the outcome...The dark brown and paler red seemed to be a good compliment to one another....

36 ct linen-coffee stained and baked by me

And even though the photo does not do my coffee stained and baked linen much justice, it truly is stained just like I like it~!! Vonna is a genius! Her step by step tutorial is perfect! And thanks to my buddy Karen SC for giving me the encouragement to go out on a limb and try this technique.... I need that nudge and it worked!~~ Thanks ladies.

What will my next adventure bring??? It could be another block in SoHRH, finishing some much needed attention to finishing the MANY smalls I have on hand or it just might start a new Quaker sampler...I have some red overdyes begging to be put to good use!.....So, will keep you posted....Happy stitching everyone and hope you are getting ready for spring like I am~ Faye

N Myrtle Beach snow~~

If you are like me, you are sick of seeing snow....But I could not resist showing you the snow we got this weekend while at the beach.... It hardly ever snows there! From my back porch...It looks so cold!
And this poor palm tree was nearly drooping to the ground before it all ended...
Sometimes snow does not fall uniformly on sand....
And the tide drags the snow right on out to sea! I will be remembering all this when it is hot and over 100 degrees this summer!! For those of you who went to the Pals reteat, I bet you never thought you would see snow like this at the beach!

Hopefully tomorrow I will have some stitching pictures....I am trying to finish Lady Quaker and have been doing some smalls for the spring fever I soon will be having!! Happy stitching from the Carolinas! Faye

I am dyeing to tell you~~

Look what Becky SC has sent me!!! When I got in from errands today, I had a wonderful package in the mail...Becky made this cute ornament with a darling red bird (I LOVE reds...), a mitten with specialty stitches strewn throughout and these cute snowflake charms! All the overdyes look so great together and as you know, Becky is a master at not only stitching but finishing as well....I feel so honored to have recieved this beautiful ornament from you Becky!

Also, today I made a little road trip to Lynne's Outlet in Siler City NC (no blog or website...).. I had read on another bloggers post that she had ran across this fabric shop....So, since I am totally feeling house bound from all the nasty weather, I decided to make the trip. If you ever need lace, trims, buttons, ribbons, quilting fabric, evenweave by the yard or Aida by the yard... you need to come to Siler City NC and visit Lynne! I bought some creme evenweave and am going to coffee dye per Vonna's tutorial. I haven't ever done any coffee/tea dyeing but my friend Karen SC encouraged me to go for it!.....So, I will keep you posted on my experiment! I am feeling adventurous!

Here's hoping everyone is having a good weekend...For all my blogging friends that are socked in due to bad weather, hang in there...The skies have opened up some in NC so lets hope the worst part of winter is passing on by~~~~Love and stitches everyone~~~ Faye
