...I am going to need to practice.....

How's that for a mysterious title??.... Well, I have a few finishes and no, I didn't stitch them all up TODAY..!  I did however complete the stitching on one of them today and now that I have a "collection" of drum pinkeep finishes to do. I think I  need to master that technique before I delve into finishing these lovelies..... Take a look....
I did complete the piece on the bottom today....so, let's review.... (sounding like a teacher??)
**********

A collaboration set with Little House Needleworks
32 ct Porcelain
Overdye thread pack which came kitted-
will be finished into a elongated drum....

The accompanying "A Stitchers Heart" by LHN will be the next stitch for me as they use the same threads and linen....Some of the softest color combination you will ever see...

Stacy Nash Primitives
35 ct Straw
specified overdyes

I fell in love with this little fellow.....
I can see him pawing the ground as I reach for a treat....

Stacy Nash Primitives
32 ct natural
specified DMC threads

So.....I will more than likely practice on some homespun scraps until I feel comfortable tackling the actual stitched pieces... I would love to perfect this finish and add it to my "finish library" so I can actually finish for others.... Will keep you posted on my progress...

So, signing out for now....It is heavenly where I am right now and will be for a couple more weeks...
I'll let you take a guess....

Blessings my friends....

My latest pouch creation....

If you are sick and tired of hearing about projects pouches, sorry!, this post may not be for you...

Folks were emailing me and requesting details about my small felted wool pouches.. Its been a
 process that I took my time with... One of my current customers had sent me several stitches to finish and the smallest  one, we decided to try it on a 5 x 7 wool pouch. Here is what I came up with..
I like it~~
I appliqued the stitch she provided...

 Wool penny I included to prim things up a bit....

Fully lined...
(19.00 plus shipping)

Previously, I had put together a wool felt small pouch and appliqued a small stitch to it also...

Fully lined....
(18.00 plus shipping)

And, there is the small pouch design where I incorporate a  stitched piece you send me...
Such as this one... This customer was absolutely thrilled!

And, it all started here....fully lined fabric pouches in large and small sizes..

Large fabric pouches (approx 11 x 14; 20.00 plus ship)
Small fabric pouches (approx 5 x 7; 14.00 plus ship)
If you buy the set, I pay the shipping....

Of course, I also have been doing alot of finishing for stitchers...Everything from pinkeeps to tuck pillows, ornaments to box lids and everything in between....

Let me know if I can help you out with any of these items!!
You can find my email in my "Complete profile.."

Thanks for the encouragement, purchases and inquires....just doing something I love to do!!

Have a great day..Blessings,

Faye

I also was blown away to have won The Silver Thimble's recent giveaway....I am somewhat of a novice at quilting although I use lots of fabrics in my finishing.... But, check out what Pat sent to me...I cannot wait to find the time to delve into this book and the fabric she sent!!

She even sent me a copy of the authors magazine...The Goat Gazette!!!
Pat is a retired school teacher and seems to be a hoot~~ You really should go take a peak at her awesome blog..........Thanks again Pat!!

Hippity hop......

Hello all from a warm and sunny North Carolina~~

Hoping everyone is getting used to their "spring-fever" symptoms..
I know it has been crazy warm here...Just wondering if it will last...

Wanted to show you a little bit of what I've been up to last week and weekend.....

Stepping out of the box and tried my hand at some wool applique...
Addictive!!

This was a kit I bought at the Quilt Show in Sanford back in January....Auntie Ju's Quilt Shoppe was one of the most popular and well stocked vendors there.... Its taken this long to work my nerve up to try it.....It sure was fun and much quicker than cross stitching..... Now, I want to do another!

I have been finishing quite a few orders for customers....It is really fun to get to see everyone's different styles and themes in our world of stitching...I have finished everything from ornaments to prim pinpillows to small pouches ....I particularly fell in love with this one....And, the owner was tickled pink~~

You will recognize this as the "Sew a Brown Bunny" of istitch....I couldn't help but vision it as a primish pouch...That mini-check in the brown just made the bunny hop~~~

So, with all these springtime bunnies hopping around, I guess I have officially set my sights on spring!!

Have a great week everyone~~

Springtime in red....

Thanks for all the nice comments about my small felted wool pouch I showed last night...It truly is a work in progress and as I perfect things, there will more to show..I especially like that you can highlight with cross stitch on the front and "make it yours..." And, yes, I plan on taking emails for orders.. Thanks~~~~

I wanted to show this week's finish...

Random thoughts of Springtime
Erica Michaels
40 count creme linen
"Cuba" red Atalie silk

This was a fun little stitch....When you see the chart, you will bearly recognize it as the designer showcased it in shades of green...(for spring!)  And, me, of course, dreamed of it in red.... Here is what you'd be looking for.....

My sweet French friend, Marylin, had gifted me the beautiful thread and the hornbook.... As luck would have it, I was able to finish my finish....And, stitch the little bunny motif as a scissor fob to boot!!

You can bearly see it, but it just pops against the brown hornbook (thanks again to Marylin!!...) because of the  Antique Red Victorian Motto chenille placed along the edges....

I truly appreciate all of the good wishes coming mom's way.... A broken hip for someone with Alzheimers is difficult but we will hold hope that she is tough enough understand and get through physical therapy and rehab... I thank you my friends.....

Well, the ACC tournament has begun...Go UNC Tarheels.....I have a craving for something prim to stitch now...hmnmmmm, what will it be?????

Hugs and love from the Carolinas to you!!

Prototype

Greetings all this chilly Saturday night~~~

I have been experimenting somewhat.... Wool felt. I have a few pieces and often use it in my finishing..However, I have never "made" anything with it.  Until recently.....

I wanted to know if I could zipper it, put a lining in it and even attach a piece of cross stitch to it....
So, this latest experiment produced this....

It actually is a really pretty shade of burnt red....I dug in my cross stitched oldies and came up with this Prairie Schooler Heart in Hand design I had stitched many moons ago...Remember those wool felt mitten toppers??  Well, I never used this one and there it layed...

The colors matched, so I practiced my blanket stitch with it, and on it went~ Nice accent, I thought...

And, of course I lined the small pouch for added protection from scissors or what-nots poking through the wool.....I am still on a learning curve about wool felt....

I wanted to show you this version of this small pouch accessory piece...Nice to have on hand to hold about anything....

On a personal note, my family needs prayers for my mom....She fell recently and broke her hip...I wish we lived closer to one another....Its been quite some time since she knew any of us...Alzheimers is an awful disease.... Thanks guys.

Soon it will be Sunday....Don't forget to turn those clocks up an hour~~

Many blessings,

Faye

A fellow stitcher needs our prayers.....

I want to call on each of you to say a prayer for a fellow stitcher who lost everything last week in the devasting storms in Missouri..... Sheri visits many of our blogs frequently and although she and her family had no loss of life, their home was destroyed as were their posessions.

I know you guys will visit her blog and shower her with the love she needs right now....

Many blessings....

A start.....

Greetings fellow friends and stitchers.....
Whew! Tired of rain, that's for sure~~ It has been a messy weekend, but brighter days are ahead.....

I spent alot of time in the craftroom today....Speaking of craftroom, several of you have asked me show pictures of my little corner of heaven....Where I am not ready to show my desk, sewing machine, shelves of supplies and baskets of stash, I can show you a few photos of the things on my walls of the space. I find inspiration in my surroundings, so I have primarily samplers....My dear husband made me a ledge of sorts where I can lean the pictures and move them around as I see fit.... Sure beats putting a gabillion holes in the wall....

My patriotic tree sits on my desk where I can gaze at alot of the small finishes perched in its branches..

Some of my old samplers are my favorites...

So.....There are a few of the framed pieces I have on the walls of my creative space....

**********************

I did manage to get a quick start going this weekend.....I plan on attaching this one to one of my new hornbooks.....Its a design I have wanted to do for some time by Erica Michaels....

Thanks for visiting and your kind words...I am always anxious to read your feedback... I truly do appreciate hearing from everyone....

Here's hoping everyone has a great week~~~

Giveaway winner....times two~

Before I announce the winner of my small project pouch, I would like to extend a heartfelt prayer to those across the country who have been devastated by the awful storms. These tornadoes have hit the US in epic fashion and it is all so very saddening to see them among their devasted homes and property.

I ask you to say a prayer today devoted to those who we don't know, people we will probably never see, and citizens who are in crisis right now due to their personal losses.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would also like to announce the winner(s) of my small project pouches.... Initially, I was giving away one, however, with the outpouring of your comments, I have decided to have 2 names pulled out of the bowl.....
Receiving this pouch will be:
Marly of  Samplers and Santas....
Congrats Marly!~~
And, another small project pouch will go out to:
Christine of Cross Stitch-Christine
Way to go Christine!~~~
If you ladies will email me your mailing address, I will be getting your goodies out Monday or Tuesday...
