Mary Beale Tea Cozy... And more!!

Greeting stitching friends!!!! The dog days of summer are upon us and with the Carolina heat and humidity, I find myself stitching and sewing more and more~ I'm not complaining at all.... I love whiling away the hours creating.....

I'm sharing a few recent finishes that have left my craft table and made their way to their owners to enjoy.... I'll let the pictures tell the story ~

Mary Beale designs are older classic pieces that have always withstood the test of time.... This masterfully stitched piece is the Mary Beale Tea Cozy.... These photos in no way do it full justice~

A solidly stitched piece is classic colors..... I included tailored piping with a Mother of Pearl ring atop...

As requested, I added a pocket on the back just the size for a tea packet.....
And, of course, I added the tiniest tea pot charm.... Nothing overpowering ~

Fully lined so to cozy up to the tea pot .....

Mary Beales Tea Cozy~The Boston Tea Party~

The Sampler Lady by Littlehouse Needleworks was another enjoyable project.... Stitched to be made into a stand-up, she really came to life beautifully ~~

Hand-made cording was attached after she was properly stuffed.... You can only imagine how much goes into packing this tightly.....

In honoring another special request, I attached a scissor pocket on the back.... Including a leather lining so not to poke through the prettily stitched pocket......

I think she's lovely.... From all sides ~

Another classic stitch to enjoy for a good time to come.....

Another classic stitch I recently finished for a fellow sweet stitcher is Hedgerow Birds by Blackbird Designs ~ She wanted a larger shoulder bag using this 2 sided stitch.... Here is my interpretation......

Shades of Gray, Purples and Taupes... I made a larger shoulder bag... Approx dimension is 14" by 18"...

Lined....

Button accents....

Double sided.....

Well, there's 3 projects that I SO enjoyed being a part of....... A true labor of love.... Aren't I one lucky lady???

Happy weekend all.....

~Happy Hearts Rejoice~

Greetings friends and fellow stitchers.....

First I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my blog and comment.... Your kind words are my inspiration whether as a comment on the blog, an email or a PM on Facebook....~ I thank you~

Earlier this year, I was drawn to the Little Sparrow Pinkeep Club that designer Tammy Black offers on her blog/Etsey Scattered Seeds.... There was something unique yet simple about her designs that caught my eye.... I recently stitched and finished the second kit and I have to say, it's a design I would stitch a second time.....

There was something I liked about the round shape of this Pinkeep.....

Or, perhaps it was the unique stitch that is sewn over the seam....

And, of course I had to use every single snippet of the leftover cotton backing fabric... Isn't this matching strawberry the cutest??

I think it makes a nice complimentary piece to the Pinkeep~

And notice the little sparrow charm?? Tammy included it in the kit... I put it to use as a dangle from the strawberry....

~Stitched using DMC threads; one strand over 2 on 32 count Platinum Belfast~

Tammys kits are moderately priced, offered every 3 months or so.... They are packaged beautifully with large print charts and easy to follow finishing instructions....

Time to sign off....hope your week is going well.... And you're finding time to stitch~
