Hello friends!!!! The Fourth of July is nearly here!!!!! Our family vacation begins tomorrow.... I can't wait~~ But, I did want to show you tonight's Patriotic finishes.... It's a double highlight....
Shelly Auen of Primitive Stitchin Designs (Etsy site) has always managed to design simple charts that are primitive and so pleasing..... Primitive Uncle Sam has been highlighted by several of you stitchers on the Primitive Stitchers Society FB page..... I HAD to jump on the bandwagon~~
I used 32 count Exempler linen and the specific DMC threads.... I used 2 threads over 2, so my stitched piece is a little fuller in color than the typical prim designs.... After stitched, I did give it a coffee spritz.... In a few strategic spots :))
I thought a nice complimentary piece would be Primitive Liberty by Jen Hoffman..... Jen is another talented Prim designer who lists her PDF charts on her Etsy "Country Rustic~" ......lightly stained using 1 thread over 2 on 32 count Olde Ivory by DixieSampler Linens..... I L-O-V-E the nice linens that DixieSampler dyes~
If you go to her site, don't look for a heart shaped design.... I wanted to put a slightly different spin on things, so I finished mine heart shaped with some of my favorite stained seam tape from Lonestar Mercantile... The color Twilight was perfect!
A nice rustic red heart with a special button was all it took to spruce up the back a little....
So, that is today's additions to my collection of Americana stitched designs.... Stay safe~ Enjoy the sights & sounds~ Happy 4th of July~~
