Exchanges and good friends....

How surprised was I when my DH arrived yesterday with packages from home??!!! Yippee for me!! Dear Jill, purplepeacockjill.blogspot.com is my wonderful exchange partner in Friends Stitching Through the Seasons Exchange.... Wow!! You did it again Jill!!! I absolutely LOVE everything in my package!

Jill made me a modified version of the LHN Strawberry House into a cute pillow filled with rice...love that! AND, in keeping with her strawberry/red theme, she included: Little Red Kelmscott scissors, Strawberry shaped thread keeper, red topped pins, red buttons and 2 skeins of Weeks Strawberry Fields threads..... That color is beautiful...the perfect blend of dark pinks and light reds..... Am I spoiled or what???

Here is an up close picture of my pillow from last year and her pillow....aren't they the perfect compliment to one another????

And, to further spoil me, my wonderful freind, Karen SC, karenshandiwork.blogspot.com sent me some beautiful note cards she hand made the other weekend.....Now, I am going to brag about Karen just a little bit....For those of you who might not know her, she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She is talented in so many ways....She is a perfectionist at stitching and can create about anything she sets her mind to when it comes to paper crafting!!! Thanks so much Karen for making these beautiful personalized note cards..... I will have a hard time parting with any of the 4 you sent me!!!

Happy Dance!!!

Things happen in 3's....right???

Sandhills Community College Golf Team
(Phillip is second from right next to the coach)

I want to shout it from the roof tops that Phillip and the golf team from Sandhills Community College place 3rd in the nation in the National Junior College National Golf Tournament in
Chautauqua, NY!!! I am so proud of all the guys!! With only 13 colleges from every region in the country qualifying to play, I'd say coming in third is pretty awesome~~
Way to go guys~~~ You have done an fantastic job!!

Secondly, I got an email from Jolene this morning saying I was one of her giveaway winners~~~ YIPPEEE for me~~~~ ANYTHING from Jolene is awesome and she said it was a mystery gift....So, I will have to keep you posted on that~~~ Thanks again Jolene and congrats on your anniversary~~~

Lastly, tomorrow is my last teacher workday!!! Can I get a big ole happy dance right here, right now???? I will be cleaning up and organizing my classroom to shut it down for the summer... Whew~~~ I'm tired just thinking about it, but I'm smiling~~
So, for a while, you may notice me slowing down on my blogging just a tad....I will still be stitching away, but will be slightly pausing.... A girls got to get a little R&R before that next batch of first graders stand smiling at my classroom door~~~
((**Hugs**)) to everyone, Faye

As promised....My Patriotic tree!!

I have had so much fun these past 6 weeks getting ready to redo my craft room tree.... So, this will be my summer themed tree....

There are 2 "4th of July" (LK) ornaments on because I also finished one that Michele had sent me last summer in the Summer Fair/Square exchange.... Here it is front and center with the plaid buttons...
I decided to use American flags in the topper....simple...
All of these of ornaments, pinkeeps and mini-pillows will hold a special place in my heart as I use them year after year....
Lastly, I would like to wish my son and his golf team the best of luck~ They are flying out of Raleigh this morning headed to the Junior College Golf National Finals in Chautauqua, NY! This group of young men are all awesome golfers and we are all so proud they are representing our region of the country as they pursue this national title...Its such an honor to have gotton this far and we know you will go to have fun, play good golf and enjoy your teams rewards~~~ Good luck Phillip!~~

Here's hoping everyone has a great weekend!!! Try to stay cool....((Hugs)) from me to you~ Faye
