....Greetings one & all....
Thanks to all the folks who entered the PIF giveaway !! I know these charts and goodies will have a good home and the winner will keep the spirit of Paying It Forward alive also....... Karen AZ is the winner!!! So, Karen, please email me and let me know when it's a good time to mail out this hefty envelope of goodies~~ Congrats!!
I'd also like to show you the last of the winter and Christmas goodies that I finished for myself....
Snowed In... By Stacy Nash.... A design gifted to me which was part of the Girls Club sponsored by Country Sampler in Spring Green WI...
Hand stitched details mounting the stitched piece to a padded book front..
And, the back was also cover with wool & hand stitched in place~
I stitched the smaller design on 25 ct over 1 and mounted it on the back for accent... Simple subtle touches.....
I can lean this on an easel or just lay it in my basket of prims~
Lastly, I'll share a couple finished ornaments I stitched for our tree this year....
Here's hoping each of you are blessed with happiness, health, warmth and balance this upcoming 2014~
Blessings,
Faye

Picture walk...... And a PIF.....
...Greetings friends & stitching buds...
The decorations are coming down.....the organization begins.... I'd like to share a few photos.... A few sweet gifts arrived in the mail....
.... from my dear friend Elisabetta~
...and from that ever sharing friend Myra~
And, I'd like to share a few of the last of the Christmas finishes I did for fellow stitchers....Here is a random sampling of a few of them~
Finally..... I was fortunate to win the PIF giveaway from Kim a few weeks back... I was so thrilled... The way this works is you take from the winnings anything you'd like... Then add to what's left from your stash and you host a PIF giveaway.... So, if you'd like to be considered, please post a comment on this post & I will drawing a name on Dec31...Here is some of what you will get~
And......
.... Until the drawing, be happy and stitching.....

Designer spotlight~ and a lot more....
...Greetings friends & fellow stitchers~
....Tis the season for...... Stitching, of course!! I know we sometimes feel like we are all getting caught up in the hustle & bustle a little too much~ don't forget to pause and take a deep breath.... Things will all fall into place:)
This fall, I stitched up a design by 4 My Boys Designs that had lingered in my basket way too long... It's simple yet has a couple specialty stitches..... I finally sewed it up as this completed finish....
...using the specified Weeks threads, stitched on 36 ct Exemplar linen 1 over 2
You see the long stitch in the pine needles and the Vertical long cross stitch in the red border...
I liked the red border stitch so much, I used a scrap of linen and stitched another band to be attached on the back of the ornament.....
And I sewed the back with a couple pockets to hold needfuls, greenery or perhaps, a sweet note to the recipient....little details that are simple~
I also have had a chance to make progress each morning on my newest sampler stitch......it's my go-to stitch, that sits by my chair that I stitch on before work while I have my coffee....
With thy Needle & Threads reproduction sampler~
...specified cotton overdyes on 36 ct Vintage Cedar Plank linen, 1 over 2
And, I'm tickled to say, the top half is full of the Eyelet Stitch....
I've gotton lots & lots of practice... Nice soft colors...
Lastly, I was able to get to the framer recently to pick up a few framed pieces.... I'm still thinking of the perfect location of each, but here they are...
I fell in love with this rope moulding....
( sorry for any reflections...)
Well.... I hope everyone remains happy, warm and blessed~
Kindly,
Faye

Designer spotlight... And an offering~
Greetings friends~
What a glorious Thanksgiving we shared with family & friends.... It's hard to believe that it's behind us and Christmas is approaching.....
With that being said, I'd like to share a finished stitch of mine by a somewhat new-found designer ( for me, at least...) Jenny Hoffman of Country Rustic Primitives has some lovely PDF designs and you know me when it comes to that country colonial feel...
...nestled in my pie safe, glowing my candlelight...
I added vintage seam tape, rusty jingle bells and a few of my favorite homespuns.... Stitched on 25 ct Vintage Country Mocha Lugana using the specified DMCs.... This was a very nice stitch and her finishing & aging directions are simple and complete... Great design Jenny!!
*******************************************************************
Rarely will I sew extras when I'm doing finishes.... But, I did make a few extra large project pouches earlier in the week....They make wonderful practical gifts and is something every stitcher or crafter could use... Please email me lriggsbee@nc.rr.com if you are interested....
....... 20.00 ea plus mailing( these are spoken for, but I'm taking orders..)
I'll sign off for now.... Wishing all of you a great weekend, safe travels and warm memories~
Kindly,
Faye

Saturday night Designer spotlight~
Hello stitching friends.....
First off, I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of those who emailed and commented about the scissor mannequins!! Wow~ I was thrilled to hear the compliments and words of encouragement~ And, for those of you who placed your orders, I will be mailing out midJanuary to you.. Just in time for an after holiday pick me up!! lriggsbee@nc.rr.com if any others are interested...
Next, I would like to show you an ornament I stitched... A tiny version (25 ct country mocha Lugana) of "Merry Christmas to Thee" by the talented designer, Gayle Rose of Abby Rose Designs.... Gayle's designs are usually beautifully framed, but she went with a pillow using 30 ct linen, Weeks & Gentle Arts Sampler Threads ( including a DMC conversion) on this design.... An easy mid-size project, 85 x 83, that could be a nice weekend stitch~
I love adding cotton lace and antique buttons to my ornaments~I will definitely looking for more Abby Rose Designs to be released!!
Between sewing and finishing this week, I was able to complete stitching a beautifully kitted project ~ Manor at Peacock Hill by With thy Needle & Thread
The blue Peacock is majestic....Mountain mist & Otter creek~ love....
And the over-dye shades is this house are beautifully soft....
I'll leave you with a last glimpse of this pretty Brenda Gervais design~
Enjoy the rest of your weekend friends~

...something a little different....
Greetings friends &fellow stitchers~
Last month, when Sherry H asked me to make her a couple scissor mannequins, I shied away.... Having never made such a thing, I was reluctant to make her my guinea pig~ But, Sherry said she'd be willing to be the one I took a test drive with on this unique finish~ Here's what I mean.....
Scissor mannequin and matching needlebook~
Buttons, ribbon, lace, charms and nice fabrics....
The blue set is slightly varied.... Isn't the lace pretty?
I want to thank Sherry for pulling me out of my comfort zone~ I sure hope she enjoys them!! This project ended up being so much fun! I will definitely be making more~
I will leave you with a photo of what's been in my hoop these past days... Very poor photo, but you get the idea~
Manor at Peacock Hill~kit purchased from Needlecraft Corner~
Enjoy the rest of your week!!
