Wynter Peacocks and the Ladies Prim Society....

....greetings this fine Sunday morning..
Hello fellow stitchers....good morning!!!!!
I wanted to share a recent stitch and finish.... For myself... Dyeing to Stitch shop in Virginia is hosting the Ladies Prim Society in 2013.....well, those of you know me, knew if it involved "prims", it caught my ear.... The wonderfully talented Nan Lewis of Threadwork Primitives designed the first design of several to be released this year....Blackbird Designs will be the other contributing designer... Win-Win!!!
(Please click photo for the best look....)

....a sewing pouch with every single item needed for the finish included..... I did distress my linen once done.... Isn't it darling??

...button and nice hemp provided.... Instructions included...

...nice brown wool felt to blanket stitch for pins and needles...check out the beautiful lining fabric! ...all included...

..here it is laying flat.... And, yes, I had to put a little "carolinastitcher" uniqueness on the backside of my sewing pouch...

..it started out with stitching the year on the back....and then this prim wool penny flower developed.....

Nan even provides instructions for stitching the sides together...a uniquely prim touch!
For those Prim Ladies out there, stitch and finish this nice piece... I plan on actually using mine to hold needle packs... And for any of you who are a tad bit intimidated with the finishing part, don't be! Truly easy.... And as always, I'm here to help you!
....hoping everyone's Sunday is filled with friends, family, faith and fun...

Blessings,
Faye

Seeing red...... Again....

....happy Saturday and greetings from North Carolina!....

welcome new followers and those who take the time to comment! Happy to have you on board and as always, thanks you for the kind words.... Words that I find so inspirational....

I was so very touched by a Random Act if Kindness from Peggy Lee the other week..... Her talent in painting/staining/distressing ( along with stitching of course!)...well, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.... Please click on photo for best view...

...the sweetest Burnt Red box....

I absolutely love anything red... And Peggy Lee hit the nail on the head! This treasure lives in my craft room now...

...my prized collection of antique bone buttons are safely preserved.... Thank you Peg, from the bottom of my heart...

And, as promised, I finished off my recent red stitch ( see previous post).... I discovered an old, somewhat beat up wooden box at a thrift store.... Not knowing what I'd use it for, but the red along with the patina was perfect...

...no telling who had owned it, where it had been... I just knew for the price tag of a dollar, it was mine... It was perfect for...

I put special scrap booking paper inside.....as I wanted to use this wonderful box to store items in the craft room...

..perhaps my scissors will be placed inside....

So, my two new goodies are happy together and serving a very useful purpose..

....I hope you enjoy you weekend.....

Blessings......

Greetings to all and happy Sunday...

Many of you subscribe to "Just Cross Stitch" magazine....honestly, this was my last issue just because their designs are not really representative of "me" anymore.... BUT, when I saw this cute design by Sandra Sullivan of Homspun Elegance, I knew it was a must stitch.... It is found in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue.... She chose a nice silk brown where I knew mine would be in red...

...please excuse the wrinkles.... And you might see another slight deviation from the design....

...I googled spider web rosettes.... Practiced on a scrap piece of linen..... And stitched in place of the called for tulips.....

...isn't this Autumn Red by Victorian Motto simply gorgeous....and I know exactly how I will finish this one up.... But it will first take a little prep work...hmmm.....

I had promised myself to stitch at least one red stitch a month this year..... Since Nicola is celebrating her "Scarlet Letter Year", I thought it would be a perfect year for me to add more scarlett goodies to my red's basket also... I am so enjoying stitching Rebecca Robinson by Scarlet Letter..... I will return to stitching her today.... And tonight during Downton Abby.....

....And, I wanted to share with you a company, thanks to my enabling friend Marly....

Firecracker Kid Primitives
Firecracker Kid Primitives makes some of the most beautiful wood creations..... A Floss Box of theirs is VERY high on my must-have-one-day list..... Extremely nice and responsive folks.... Reasonably priced with lots of color and design options.... I invite you to visit them and dream right along with me... (And, no, this is in no way a paid endorsement!)

Well.... A couple things are shouting from my to-do list.... Hope your Sunday is fantastic......

Blessings,

Faye

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day friends.....

I hope your day is fantastic.... I thought today would be the perfect day to showcase a recent finish I did for one of my customers.... The theme was "A Rose is a Rose..." So, not only did I want to finish her stitched piece, I wanted to add a little "wow" factor.....

...along with the scissor fob, I made a scissor case.... With dimension.....

....this beautiful calligraphy printed fabric seemed perfect....along with the heart charm with its Rose.....

...wool felt with its own rosé...

...it made a beautiful set and she was so pleased....
Well.... Off to work so make your day fantastic!!!...
Much love,
Faye

Rebecca Robinson update.....

Hello all this early Saturday evening.... I've been doing a little " painting" on the main house of Ms Rebecca Robinson....

It is ALOT of filling in, but has given me a chance to unwind mindlessly....

.... The house is nearly completed and I'd like to fill in the roof tomorrow..... I have a few finishes to complete for customers, but again, filling in is a no brainer and allows me to rest....

A couple of my favorite motifs are still this little guy... Perched on his nest.....and...

...this flourishing vase of golden flowers.... I still wonder what Rebecca was like and if she dreamed up her designs or was guided by her teacher.... Never the less, her color palette is beautiful.....

I'm guessing I'm at about the halfway point of the sampler....

I enjoy her stitches until the end...

Smiles and blessings to all of you....

A few weekend finishes..... For me!!!!

Happy Monday....... As promised, I wanted to share a few finishes I completed this weekend....... Previous posts show my stitched finishes, but I wanted to completely finish them.... To enjoy.....

A Red Cottage now hangs on my table stand..... With the freebie stocking dangling as a compliment piece.....

Click any photo for the best view...

Paulette's freebie Valentine Stocking was an irresistibly quick stitch.... And easy sew....

I had the perfect antique bone button......

...and this hand tatted cotton lace was salvaged from a girls petticoat from long ago......

....the colors work perfectly together between the two pieces.....

I was also able to sew up the recently stitched Spectacles Case.....

...yes, that fabric we had talked about being the lining, was just the right match......

...I even liked it enough yo have part of it popping out the top....for a small cuff...

*******this week I plan on devoting my stitching time to Rebecca Robinson Sampler..... I will be constructing the main house..... Wish me luck!

Have a great week.....

..... Check out the gorgeous flowers...... The olive green tones of GAST Mustard Seed and Mulberry are winning combinations.....and the HOUSE..!!.....

... The 36 ct Meadow Rue linen makes the whites really pop....

.....there is only one tiny section stitched over one....

...how will it get finished????? I haven't made my final plans, so stay tuned.......

....looks like it may be a Plum Street Sampler day today also!!! Go to her blog and see her newest freebie...

A big thank you Paulette!!!!! Another winner...
