Dyeing to Stitch challenge......

..Good Saturday morning friends...
Wow.... Where is the time going????.... Glorious spring....
Who doesn't love a challenge?? I know I'm always intrigued... I joined the 2013 Ladies Prim Society that the cross-stitch shop Dyeing to Stitch is hosting this year... A amazing group of ladies are organizing the club.... Not only do they own the Dyeing to Stitch brick and mortar shop in Virginia, but they also own R&R linens..... Win~win....
Threadwork Primitives designed the first kit of the year.... It is gorgeous.....Here is mine stitched.... And further distressed..
Untitled.....All the finishing supplies are included... Won't you join us???

Included in the kit was a small design that was to be stitched and finished as the challenge.... I welcomed the challenge and recently was notified that I had won!!!!! Yeah.....

... I used Country Mocha 25 ct Lugana because I wanted very tiny stitches for this fob.... And I incorporated a feather stitch border using the included hand dyed Mountain Mist by GAST...

A goodie basket from Dyeing to Stitch was the winnings... Again, Win~Win..!

Just look..... The brand new Threadwork Primitives design, Down Virginia Way, hand dyed Rick racks, 40 ct hand dyed R&R reproduction linen and fantastic stitchers Bees Wax... I'm thrilled!!!!
...Thank you, Dyeing to Stitch, for this recognition..... And the most generous basket of goodies....
Anyone want to take a guess of what I'll be stitching this weekend???.....
...Hoping everyone enjoys their weekend......
Blessings,
Faye

Two new starts....

Hello friends.....

First off, I'd like to say a hearty Thanks! to all who visit and take the time to comment.... It humbles me so... And, I think there are a few Rebecca Robinson admirers out there! The Scarlet Letter has some of the most beautiful samplers to stitch.... I highly recommend taking a look....

I have had a chance to start two rather large pieces over the last few days.... Soon, school will be back in session, so my stitching time goes way down, but I still wanted to begin with two.... And here they are....

Ann Priest 1841 by Scarlett House has been patiently lingering in my basket since October 2012.... I love everything that Tanya Brockmeyer has charted, so starting her was a must... I had a darker piece of Newcastle 40ct flax on hand and all the called for cotton overdyes....
Ann Priest 1841

It does have bands of over one using the tent stitch, so I jumped right in and took care of "Claybrook School" right away...

The hues of greens, taupes and golds are brilliant in this piece!!!!

My other start, meager as it is, is my Scarlet Letter piece, And All was for an Appil.... After seeing all the stitching experts out there stitching her up, I just HAD to stitch this unique Adam &Eve design... I hope to get all the outlining done before filling in..... Will I be tempted though to get my hands on those colorful silks?

And all was for an Appil
.....please excuse her wrinkles.... Oops!!

Well, I need to sign off... As spring unfolds in your neck of the woods, take time to enjoy......

Blessings,

Faye
