I have a finish to share that was a stitch I began in December and happily completed on New Years Eve~
Harriette Elizabeth Coe 1844 by With thy Needle & Thread.....Actually, Harriette was finished in the wee hours of Jan. 1, 2014.....
Harriettes sampler tells us a lot about her.....

Harriettes sampler was representative of the 19th century schoolgirl samplers... She must have enjoyed learning the eyelet stitch... (Like me)... And, she didn't mind combining pastel shades with the more traditional reds~

Harriette was fond of dogs....perhaps she was an animal lover... And she liked flowers a lot....

She had been taught to apply her name to each piece she stitched... I used the tent stitch in place of her tiny over one cross stitches.... Harriettes eyes were a lot younger than mine... :)

This is a lovely stitch and a handsome reproduction sampler~

Next up.... I have stitched Marly's Christmas 2013 freebie.... I'm pondering its final finish.... Will it mount to a basket?? Or perhaps it's finish will involve wool....
Enjoy your day.......
