A sneak peak and progress on Halloween Hornbook Sampler...

Well, I have been missing in action from blogging for a couple weeks but have been really busy!!! I have a snap of a few of the ornies have managed to stitch...Today is finishing day!! My family and friends so enjoy a handmade ornament or pinkeep for the holidays, so whe I received my JCS Ornament issue, I got busy! Now that I have the house to myself, its on!~~
Not being the Halloweenie orangie kind of girl like many of you, I was awestruck when I saw this Halloween Hornbook Sampler by Plum Street Samplers! I had to convert the colors to GAST but there is nearly an identical match in GAST for each Belle Soie listed. It is done on 40ct Sand linen and really is prettier in person than this snap is showing...I just wanted to show my progress and let you know this is truly one you will have a hard time putting down. Thank you Paulette Stewart for all the beautiful designs you contine to give us!!

Well I am off to the craft room....Pinkeeps, ornies and needlebooks await me!! Have a beautiful fall weekend everyone! Make a mug of something warm and push your needle through that linen!! Love to all, Faye

I like it, Faye.

I've barely had time to dog ear the pages in JCS orn. issue that I want to stitch, much less work on them...

Your Halloween Hornbook sampler looks great so far, as do your ornaments. I haven't even finished one from this year's mag yet!

Would you mind sharing your GAST conversion for the hornbook please? I would love to do this one in GAST instead of the Belle Soie. Thanks!

Good girl! You've really jumped on the Christmas bandwagon. I'm not much for Halloween, but I really do like your hornbook. I may have to investigate that one, myself.

Faye - I can't wait to see your finished ornies. Looks like you got a lot accomplished in a couple weeks time! YGG!

And I just love, love your hornbook. I'm like you - not the Halloween orange type of girl (which is probably why I haven't done anything for Halloween), but I am in love with that hornbook. I can't wait to see your finish on it.

You still amaze me Faye. You seem to have so much energy to stitch so many things so quickly. I love the Halloween Hornbook project, I have it in my stash waiting to be stitched. Yours is turning out very nice and what great progress you've made. Can't wait to see all the ornies finished. Happy Fall!

Goodness...you have been busy!

I have been drooling over the Hornbook since it came out and can't wait to get it. I love the colors too.

Kudos on winning "Frederick". I hope to start Frederika today and will add this one once finished.

Thanks so much for stopping by and your kind words.

You live in a beautiful area. My dear friend lived in Cameron for a few years and we often went to Southern Pines when visiting her.
That hornbook sampler is gorgeous. I stitched many samplers in my earlier years but never did a hornbook!

Faye, I was talking to my husband when he was driving down to NC with a few of his friends. He was repeating out loud to them where I said you lived & you could hear the groans and "OMG! That's where..." through the phone. ;) They all want to move there, LOL.

I can't wait to see your finished ornaments!! I need to get cracking on mine. Love the sneak peek!

Your Halloween Hornbook looks fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing the conversion; I just copied it and e-mailed it to myself so I'll remember when I get to it. I'm looking forward to your next progress pic!

Thank you for posting your conversion. I am just getting this pattern to stitch and did not want to use the silks, nor the DMC conversion. I will be mentioning you in my next video on Flosstube!! Thanks again.
