**Friendly encounters, a WIP and homework**

Yesterday, several of us met up with a dear friend for the day... She is like a mentor and got all of us properly introduced to the world of cross stitching MANY years ago. Edna Medlin of
Em-Li's, Thread of Gold introduced us to linen and no telling how many sampler charts...

It inspired me to come home and look in my basket of some of the many WIP's I have.... Some of which are true antiques...I spotted my long lost "The Sparrow's Song" by The Goode Huswife.... Now isn't is crying shame I got this far and put it down????? This WILL be finished next as I would guess I have less than 1/3 to go!! What was I thinking????? I especially was drawn to the fall-ish colors.....And, that seems to be the frame of mind I have been in of late...

The Sparrow's Song
The Goode Huswife
Natural 32 ct linen, DMC floss

And, as you can see, I still have a few pin pillows to finish up....the crushed walnut shells are in...just needs to be seamed up and the buttons attached.... I have RAK'd 3 fellow stitchersthis month, so I will hang on to these in case I need a quick gift.... So, guess I have a little weekend homework!

On a personal note, I want to say a special thank you to many of you who take the time to visit and post a comment. I have not been really good about replying to each and every one of you but please know, I DO read each comment. I am touched with the kind words and encouragement that you like what I do. That, in itself, inspires me so much!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I hope all of you have a fantastic upcoming week!

((**Hugs**)) from me to you, Faye

Love your WIP'S Faye! I also have Sparrow Song as a WIP, but I think the linen turned me off on it or something, so it got put away. Maybe seeing your finish will be just the inpiration I need to get it back out and finish it :)

Those little pillows are just lovely too!

The horrors of returning to school! I dread it! Our cafeteria staff is under turmoil, makes me not want to return! We need a new manager plus a new principal! Hope you have a better year than me!

Faye, before I forget I wanted to say how MUCH I love your scissor pocket finish, wow, that is ever so GORGEOUS!!!! I might have commented on it, but I may not have and I didn't want to NOT tell you how much I love it!!

I have that design too, although I don't have it started, it has drawn my attention more then once in my stash that is kitted up! Keep at it, it won't be long until it is finished!

Edna, dear Edna, I have met and spoken with her on many occasion, on the phone but especially at the trade shows. What a super wonderful and sweet lady she is too...once of those you meet and are a friend for life! I wish her the best, and I do so hope she is well and still enjoying her needlework.

Have a great week, Faye Dear! Hugs!:o)

Faye, Sparrow's Song is just too cute-much cuter than the front of the chart shows. And your pincushions are adorable as usual-by chance is that fleur-de-lis a freebie somewhere?

Have a great week!

Sparrow's Song is gorgeous! I can't wait to see your finish! Love your little pinpillows too. Do you line your pinpillows with muslim for the shells or just pour them against the linen. I always wonder if the walnut dust will escape...

I'm confident that you will finish Sparrows Song soon. I have not seen this before and it is really cute! I think sometimes it's not that we fall out of love with a project but that it gets buried (and therefore forgotten) under all the other projects that we start. Your pin pillows are just fantastic.

Congrats on your recent Giveaway win Faye-
I have started to stitch the La-D-Da Ornament from the JCS Ornament Preview Magazine also - It looks great in Crescent Colors Spinach and Manor Red - I am working on one is Just Rust Now and the distinction in the variation of thread color is wonderful

Happy Stitching

I can really agree about the friendship and encouragement of others though comments; and I also know exactly how it is about not replying the way you want to or think you should--and I think everyone else does, too! :D

That GH design is wonderful; glad that you're sharing as I hadn't seen it before. And, of course your pin pillows have inspired me to dig that particular freebie out of the file--I'm contemplating what colors to make mine in! :D

Love your progress on this one, not far till you will have a Fall finish!!

Your blog is great and I do understand the same about not being able to respond to each and every one but I too read all mine and even though I have gotten some private emails that were very hurtful in the past, I know that there are WAY more good people out in blogland who are genuine.

You just never know......
