~~Anniversaries of the Heart progress~~

I worked on my Blackbird Desgns "Anniversaries of the Heart" piece last weekend and thought I would share my progress......

I finished the block on the right and started/finished the one on the left..... I am LOVING this series of designs....I am doing them in random order though.....

This square called "Clara Ellen" is dedicated to my parents....When they retired, they moved back to the farm my dad was raised on.......... Being out in the country, there are flowers everywhere and I thought this large basket of flowers were fitting.... I put the family name and their initials on the piece for personalization....

My younger son loves the beach.... When I saw "Swan Lake" I thought that bottom portion looked like waves...plus he always wanted to feed the ducks as a child........ So, this square is for him including his initials and year of birth.....

My older son is a March baby..... With the clover looking vine in this piece and the verse about being lucky, I knew this square would be for him............I incorporated his name and birth date also.............

And, here is what I have accomplished so far with AoTH...........The first squares are not personalized yet....I am still thinking about who the perfect fit will be on them....Once I have done all of the 15 in the series, I will go back and personalize those left.....

Faye, Beautiful piece. What a way to commemorate those that are near and dear. I am stitching this individually but love them as one giant piece. Wish I had done that.

How beautiful! My son is a March baby as well so I had the same thought with that block. I'm collecting the charts and need to get the threads! Yours is an inspiration! Love the personalization!

Oh, you're going to have a real family heirloom there, Faye--your sons will be fighting over it :) My guys asked me last week what I am ever going to do with all the "stuff" I've created. I told them all my ornaments will go to them eventually and they just looked at each other and rolled their eyes--boys (sigh...)!

Seriously--I love how you make each one such a part of your family history...just lovely!

Faye - This is looking wonderful. I've been so tempted to start on this but didn't. Now seeing yours, I think that I need too! I love that you personalized the blocks for your family.

So pretty! I had my eye on that series once before, but since seeing the way you are putting them together, I just went and ordered all 9 of them! I'm also a quilter and it reminds me of their Home Sweet Home quilt pattern.

I really love this piece, Faye, and you're stitching it so beautifully. I've been dragging my feet on it all year. I started it in March and it stays by my chair, but I just don't pick it up. With hubby's surgeries and chemo all year I've just done little things. But maybe this will insire :)
