After MANY months of hanging out in my WIP basket, I had promised Fredricka she would be one of my "up for a challenge" finishes for 2011...... Once I got her back out, I couldn't imagine why in the world she was ever put down! It wasn't the 40 ct Flax Newcastle linen....It certainly wasn't the luscious NPI silk threads....I know it wasn't the beautiful fallish shades...hmmmm....
Well, the good news is, she more than likely will be my next finish!
From this.......
To this....
Carriage House Samplings
Fredricka
40 ct Flax Newcastle linen
specified NPI silks
She has been my current project since finishing Anniversaries of the Heart.... And, thanks so very very much for all the kind words you guys passed on to me about that finish! I appreciate every single one of you and your words of inspiration.....I may not have gotton to reply via email to all of you, but just know how much I appreciate the time you take to visit my little corner of the world~~~
Well, here's hoping Hurricaine Irene passes by the Carolina coastline....on out at sea of course!
Just to be safe, I need to get my emergency kit in order in case we lose power or water.... Let's see, that would be linen, threads, kitted up projects and my basket of WIP's ..... just kidding!
Take care and ((hugs)) from me to you~~~

Hi Faye, Your Fredricka is gorgeous. Gee, guess what? I have that one too and Fredrick.lol Not enough life times too stitch. Oh well, I don't have alot of wall space anyway - just enjoy stitching.

Hi Faye,
Fredricka is lovely. The colors are great...very fall like :) I definitely have cooler temps on my mind!
I hope that you have a safe weekend...do you have your milk and bread?
Hugs!
Chris
Fredricka is one cute birdie! What a great job, Faye! Doesn't it make you wonder why pieces get put aside and when they are picked back up, you wonder what possessed you to stop stitching on it?
I hope Irene passes you by far out at sea.
Oh, just seeing how beautiful your Fredricka piece is makes me want to get her out of my stash, as well! Been watching the weather reports and I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Linda
Oh my, such lovely fall colors, and Fredricka is a pretty little thing! Can't wait to see the finish.
Hope the storm passes away from you too...my mom went through an earthquake today; she lives in VA just miles away from the earthquake's epicenter...and Colorado has had two in as many days...Lord, things are really getting crazy!
Absolutely Beautiful Faye - I love the colors !!
I am sure Fredricka is glad to be out of the basket. Looking very nice.
Like your idea of an emergency kit.

Love your Frederika! it's looking great! I'm hoping this hurricane goes out to sea and leaves us all alone. They're talking about the NE getting impacted badly now too. Ugh.
Fredricka is a beauty... she's in my stitching basket to start... lol... along with her man Fredrick!
Be safe this week! Keep us posted.

That is some real progress on Fredericka! She's looking wonderful, do you have any plans to stitch Frederick to go with her?
This is pretty! Definitely a lot of progress since the first picture.
I really hope that hurricane misses the Carolinas. I live in Miami and we got worried there for a little bit that it was coming out way, but now it seems we are going to spared again.
Good Luck up there. Get that emergency stitching kit ready!
Jen
I know she's happy to be out of the basket! Mr and Mrs are in my stash, but they'll be lingering there a while longer. Did y'all feel the quake today? We got a bit of a quiver - the monitors on my desk shook a bit, and the building made some creaky noises. Hopefully that's all we'll ever get around here. Look forward to your finishes!
Looks like you have brought out your fall colors.
I like your whimsical emergency kit, and sure hope you don't need the real one.
Sounds like the perfect emergency kit to me :) I do hope Irene doesn't cause havoc in your part of the country.
Fredericka is looking good...couldn't believe the "from this to this" pictures. You've done a lot.
hugs,
babs
This is one of my wish list stitching charts. Glad to see you so enjoying it again. I love the fall colors of it too. I will enjoy seeing yours until I get that chart someday, I need to finish a bunch of my own UFO's first though. I am trying to be good.
Great progress. She is looking gorgeous.
ohhh you have done loads .. well done and I hope you are safe from the hurricane too :) love mouse xxxx
Well look at you, Miss Faye! I was wondering what you decided to work on next. I LOVE Frederika and am so impressed with all that you've gotten done. She seems like such a summer stitch to me, I guess because of the strawberry. Enjoy--and stay safe!!
You made great progress on Frederika, she is fabulous and reminds me of my pheasants:))
Gorgeous progress on Frederika. I LOVE that design (started it recently too) and love watching yours growing.
Crossing fingers that you and the yours will be safe from the hurricane.
Will you stitch Frederick as well?
Frederika is so beautiful! I have stitched Frederick but Frederika is still waiting for me and my needle... Good to see your progress, my mood may be come back :)
Frederika is really coming along! The colors in this piece are so beautiful.
Wahoo for Ms. Fred! :D
This is another in my must-stitch pile of charts. :D
Fredericka looks great. They always told us to put books or cards or other relaxing hobbies in our earthquake kits. Can't see why linen and floss doesn't belong in every emergency kit. ;)(Though power outages may put a crimp in stitching.)
Stunning progress, Faye!! It looks so great! I am hoping the hurricane goes right out to sea as well. I live in Maryland and it is supposed to hit us Saturday and Sunday. Fingers crossed it does not!
Its beautiful Faye :) Good going you!
Fredrika is just beautiful! I too just picked up a piece that I had set aside and I just can't put it down now!
Frederika is a gorgeous stitch and I'm so glad you brought her up out of that basket! The colours are so rich and do bring fall to mind but I'd be happy stitching on her anytime. You've made some amazing progress, well done!
oh quelle merveille cette broderie ! l'oiseau est merveilleux ! bravo à vous mon amie
bisous bisous
Faye Fredricka is beautiful!! I think stitching supplies is a good idea for an emergency kit but don't forget a magnifier with a light or at least a light to see!! LOL!!
WOW! Look at you! Your needle must have been smoking!!! Frederika is beautiful! Congrats on the progress and I hope Irene doesn't wreck too much havoc on the east coast!
Your needle is smokin'! WOW! Great progress and I'm sure she'll be done very soon :o)
Be safe. I saw that she was coming up the East Coast :o(
Fredricka is looking beautiful. The colors are just gorgeous! I know you will have a finish in the near future. Your needles are smokin'!
Take care and I hope you aren't affected by the hurricane.
I love the colors in Fredricka. Wow, what progress, beautiful! Can I borrow your magic needle? Hoping the hurricane stays out at sea-if not stay safe.
Oh my...Fredricka is a lovely gal indeed! Beautiful Autumnal colours, and such fine needlework Faye. Breathtaking!
I do hope that Mistress Irene flies by without stopping in for a visit. Be well...be safe.
she is looking stunning! i'm sure she will be done by the weekend. ;0)
stay safe out there, you guys are having earthquakes, and hurricanes and we are back to excessive heat warnings at 117 today. ugh
Fredricka is gorgeous! Going to have to pull that one out of my stash and kit it up! Hope the hurricane is not too bad where you live! Stay safe!
She's looking gorgeous! I hope the hurricane passes you by. Be well and be safe.
Just beautiful Faye. Absolutely beautiful. Now I know I have to start this one. Yours is so pretty. :)
As for Irene, stay dry and safe. And I hope you have enough candles to stitch by. :)
So pretty Faye! You have made great progress. I am plugging along on Penny America and hoping Irene goes out to sea too.
She is beautiful, Faye. I don't think I would be kidding with the emergency kit - of course I would add water, batteries, flashlight, etc. But I would need a project or two to calm me down. Hope Irene avoids you and the entire coast!
Man...you are smoking on this one! Looks like you did have a very relaxing stitchy weekend!!!
Hope Irene passes you by... wish we could get at least a little bit of the rain....
happy stitching....
Fredricka looks wonderful, not too long before another finish I reckon. Stay safe and warm, your list of "essentials" gave me a chuckle. Best wishes.

Just checking in with you to see how you and Irene are faring.
