Most of you might know that I have the great opportunity of working with twenty 6 year old First Graders who attend school on the Year Round calendar.....I love the schedule and I love them~~ Hugs galore..... BUT, in this intense heat and everyone having been back at school a measly 3 weeks now, days can be tiring, we all get a little cranky and basically at the end of our school day, worn out. Not complaining, mind you, as I feel so fortunate to have a job I LOVE and can actually see the fruits of my labor blossom right in front of my eyes as these children learn.....
So.......at the end of the day, I so look forward to my precious time in the craft room after dinner is prepared and I settle into my theraputic stitching time.......... This week's time was devoted to
Penny America as it was entirely impossible to put down~~ Addictive to me... Might as well been named "Faye's Penny America"...as Myra so hilariously emailed me to say....

I am thinking that might be a wrap up for me and all my Americana stitching for a while....I am starting to feel like some of those fallish shades are speaking to me.....Will I pick up something Halloweeny to stitch?? Or, perhaps get back into my beloved WIP basket of to-dos as promised in my "up for a challenge" project...?... I just know that with this heat, its too hot to do much outside, so bring on the linen and thread~~~
Have a great weekend everyone~~

Bravo...lovely work Faye!
I find that my workbasket seems to be filled with autumnal colours and yummy goodies. Perhaps I might persuade the weather to cooperate as well and be just a wee bit cooler?
Peaceful stitching...
Warmly,
Judy
Fantastic finish, Faye!! You're going to drive me crazy with the autumnal finishes now... I look forward to it! ;) My daughter sent me a link to Toby Keith's latest video, Made in America, and I immediately thought of your patriotic stitching and how I wished I'd done some this year. ;)
Have a great weekend!
Sew pretty!
A lovely finish. Look forward to seeing what is next.

How beautiful is your finish! I want to stitch this now -- you're so inspiring!
Penny America turned out fabulous. I can't wait to get mine started. I ordered the chart and the fabric
I can't get over the colors, Jan really has an eye for it.
Beautiful finish!
Ooooooh, do I love your Penny America!! Think I'll try to find that pattern now and make one for myself! Of course, I'm with you -- I will have to work on fall/Christmas items first, but then I can have at it with Penny American........and how appropriate for me, Penny!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

That is beautiful! I really like that color of linen also. It has been unbearably hot here too. I am so over summer.
This is a beautiful finish! I may just have to add it to my wish list.
What a wonderful finish - boy did that work up fast! I can't even imagine a class of any age children in this heat. I hope you stay cool as much as you can. It's been really hot here in Michigan too - especially when you factor in the yucky humidity!! Looking forward to see what you stitch up next.
Beyond stunning! Too beautiful for words. I thought I was through with Americana for a while, too, but I have to do this!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Linda
I love your Penny America finish! The fabric and the floss colors are so beautiful. I've just become enabled to purchase both the patter and the fabric!
It is lovely! No wonder you couldn'g put it down.
A really lovely finish Faye - congratulations!
So pretty! I love that fabric color too...going to have to check it out. Can't wait to see what is next up for stitching....
Those needles were smokin' girl! Absolutely, positively beautiful. When I saw this design on Jan's blog it reminded me of you. :o) I love that linen color too - just perfect for this piece. I had to biggify it to have a closer look.
I admire you for working with those children day in and day out. I would probably pull all my already grey hairs out! I think I'll stick with the animals and leave the wee ones to you.
See ya tomorrow!
Jan might owe you a commission as your stitching and finish have prompted several of us, including myself, to order this gorgeous design and fabric. Lol! Beautiful stitching!
We started back this week. I completely understand what you mean about it being tiring but rewarding. Enjoy your weekend with your needle and thread! :)
Absolutely love it, Faye! Mine has yet to arrive but I am looking forward to it.
And all those 1st graders-- I only have one to deal with and he wears me out!! BTW, he says reading is not necessary--look out his teacher has her work cut out this year!
So beautiful...and thinking of fall may cool us off - a tiny bit.
As the mother of a daughter who will be starting her 4th year teaching 4th grade, I so admire what you do! Remarkable people teach children! My daughter also teaches year-round school and will be going back in one week. All the other tracks have been in school now for 2 weeks. Love your penny rug stitching. Just saw that for the first time online this morning and now you are finished! I stitched 2 Americana pieces this summer, neither of them framed, maybe next spring. Thanks for sharing!
Love your Penny America, Faye! Will have to put that on my list of things..I don't do too many patriotic things, but that, and Free Bird are two of my favorites. Great job.
Penny America is just gorgeous! I love the fabric!
Hugs,
Congratulations on a beautiful finish!

I would say those kids are blessed to have you! I can imagine what an awesome, fun and inspiring teacher you must be.
Your finish is fantastic. Love it!!!
What a pretty finish!!! I love it :-).
I fell in love with this design the minute I set eyes upon it. Never mind that I'm Canadian, I love many of the patriotic Americana designs.
This is a gorgeous finish Faye! I love the colour combo. It just pops.
Hope things are starting to cool down some for you. All that heat would tire anyone.
Hello, I am back from vacation, I am going to walk on your blog kisses
Great finish! Your needles must have been flying:))
I so understand about coming home from a long day and doing something that you love. Stitching is therapy and much more!
Your finish is awesome! One can see the love that went into it.
Yup the kidlets and the heat can be a trying experience.
Enjoy your weekend!

I knew you would love that linen!! The colors are just wonderful! Jan has a true gift for fabric dyeing. I love your Penny America. I have it and the linen but haven't started it yet. I also want to start some Fall/Halloween/Christmas stitching. Once school starts back, that's always on my mind. Happy Stitching!!

Here's wishing you and the little ones a brek in the heat soon!
Congratulations on a wonderful finish.
Absolutely beautiful.
Un petit bonjour
pour te souhaiter un beau weekend !
Bisous Faye
Penny America, Libery 1776, and Flag Day are my favorites of the patriotic group. I guess I need to start spending a lot of time browsing online shops because it seems I'm missing a lot of great charts! Very nice finishes on all.
What a beautiful finish!
