~~~Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842~~~and my awesome weekend!
Greetings friends and fellow stitchers~~  I wanted to share with you my latest finish....
In all her glory, I present, Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842
by The Scarlett House.........an amazing sampler......
Sarah Eliz. Brooke 1842
The Scarlett House
40 count Vintage Meadow Rue by Lakeside
Belle Soie Silk threads as specified
Started Oct 2011
Finished Jan 2012
Think about it....a  little girl that was only 11 years old stitched this originally....
way back in 1842.....
I find that amazing.....
This was my favorite tree....so different and unusual....
A big thank you goes out to Tanya Brockmeyer for taking this sampler and reproducing it so we could all enjoy it! It will forever remain one of my favorites~~~~
*********************
Now, I need to tell on myself just a little bit.....This past weekend, some of us stitchers in the Carolinas met up for some retail therapy in Statesville NC...Lynn, who many of you met at PALS, invited us to her house for a weekend of fun and fellowship....She has the most fantastic home and is a most gracious hostess...(And she's a brave o le soul taking on this undertacking.....!)
Thanks so so much Lynn for having all of us....
.There was a totally awesome Quilt and Fibers Show in town also........Wools, quilting fabrics galore and many goodies were surveyed and purchased....more about those purchases as time unfolds......
We also did a mini shop hop...First we were off  to Stitch n Frame in Rock Hill SC....This is one of the cutest brick and mortar cross stitch shops I have ever visited....So, if you are in the Charlotte NC area, Stitch n Frame is just south a few country miles.....Well worth the trip! Thanks ladies for welcoming us all in...And, thanks Charlene for meeting us there and "enabling" us all~~~
 Love your LNS!!!
Next, we found our way on up to Salisbury NC where we visited Spring Robin....
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Not only does Robin have ALL the goodies to buy, she has decorated her cute shop with warmth, coziness and it oozes that inviting ambiance that screams "Shop, shop and BUY"!!
Not only did I bust my budget at Spring Robin, but I walked out with a mental list a mile long of "wants".....I WILL be back~ Thanks Robin for helping all of us nuts and laughing along with us~
(Thanks to the 17 of you who have ordered project pouches....I aim to work on and finish up orders this weekend and next week.... Thank you so very much to supporting me!)
Until next time, here's hoping all of you are stitching yourselves away...
Enjoying each and every project....
Many blessings....
Faye
A wonderful finish. Doesn't make you wonder how girls so young could produce these wonderful samplers. I did one years ago and the girl was 11 and I was amazed at her work. Don't think that I could do that at 11.
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. There's nothing better than friends, stitching and retail therapy!
What a beautiful, beautiful job on your sampler, Faye! It is a real beauty. I know you will find a perfect place for it to show it off! I really appreciate the kind words about my shop. I had SO much fun with all of you. I feel guilty some days for having so much fun at "work"! Blessings.
Hi Faye,
Can I get some info on the project pouches? I didn't know your were selling them. BTW...your S.E.B. sampler is just stunning. Quite an undertaking. Amazing.
What an amazingly beautiful piece!! I find it hard to believe that an 11 year old could stitch that. If for no other reason the time requirements - amazing!!
Glad you had such a great weekend! It appears to have all the ingredients to be fabulous!
Congratulations on finishing the beautiful Sarah. She is a stunning sampler isn't she. I think half of the charm for me with samplers is thinking about how old these girls actually were. They were quite amazing.
Woohoo, Faye! I am so thrilled that you have enjoyed stitching Sarah. I love that I got to see it in progress in MB. It's truly gratifying to reproduce a sampler like Sarah's when she brings such joy to us through our needles, so thank YOU!!
Now, I am truly jealous that y'all got together and I wasn't there to laugh and shop (two of my favorite things). I can only imagine the fun you had :)
Glad you had a wonderful time with your stitching buddies and had some good shopping time. I had my stamp ladies over the weekend for some stamping (homemade cards, papercrafts, etc) and then did a little battle with strep throat(gift from the sweet little preschoolers). Think I need a little stitchy retail therapy now. Never been to the place in Salisbury--may have to check that out sometime.
Beautiful finish on your sampler!
Can't help but think of you when I stitch on the HD emblem I had out at Pals. My goal was to finish it at Christmas...haha...you knew that wouldn't happen! And yep, I'm still stitching on it... :)
