Adam and Eve update....and more!

Greetings everyone on this fine and absolutely gorgeous Sunday morning~~~
I must apologize for my slackness in posting of late....Let's just say, it is mega-crazy at school these days..we are winding down the year and words just can't tell you how tired I am by the time I get home each day.... Bring on June 8th~~~~

I do have an update on my beloved A&E sampler... This SAL is turning out to be so much fun as it keeps me on track, knowing I will be posting an update every other Sunday....Terri and Marylin were gracious enough to invite me in on the fun....So, I have gotton this far....

Adam and Eve
May 2009 issue
Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine
(the pinkish shade is really "Cherry Tomato" which has more pale red than pink..)

I fell in love with this little ship and the funky colored bird this week..

**************************

I also found time to complete the May Cottage by CCN....I chosse to tone down the turquoise house by using Dinky Dyes Coral Sea.... Its a "milder" blue....
May Cottage
Country Cottage Needleworks
40 ct vintage pearled barley

*****************************

And, I also wanted to experiment with one of the luscious threads I won last month from Nina....
Old Jeans is a special shade of blue with tons of shading in it....I love Nina's colorways, and the thread was a joy to work with!
Blackbird Designs
Nina Threads
Old Jeans

************************

I am also happy to say that I stepped a little out of my comfort zone yesterday, by taking a quickie quilting class at my local quilt shop Linderella's.... A few of us gathered and had the best fun! Linda makes it easy to learn and we just cut up and had fun! I was the beginner in the class, so I am on a VERY steep learning curve when it comes to large projects like quilts....Luckily this is a smaller lap quilt called "Americana Star"...Here are yesterday's results....
I hope to get the pinning, quilting and binding done this week as I plan on using it as a table topper this summer on the breakfast room table....

*********
I leave you with pictures of  *what I hope to be* my next sampler project after I complete Adam and Eve.... I am narrowing down my conversion process and hope to make final decisions on those npi's soon.....Meet Threads of Gold's Sarah Munday Sampler....
Sarah Munday Sampler
Threads of Gold
40 vintage buttercream LL
..silk conversion is in process..

Here's hoping everyone has a fantastic day and wonderful week!

Blessings,

Faye

Hey Girl!
School is on the short-lived path now, for sure. Your stitching progress is fine. But you're not too busy to throw in a quilting class - and it is lovely! Can't wait to see more. Take care, and enjoy whatever you do.

The progress you are making with A&E is fantastic!
Now, here is my complaint...I should have never clicked on Threads of Gold and found my way to Emi-Li's...after the initial oh's and ah's I did MAJOR damage...but I needed some retail therapy and what a way to go!!!!!
Before you know it, the semester will be over...hang in there.

Wow, Faye, you *have* been busy, even with the school year pressing on you! All of your pieces are, as usual, marvelous and inspiring. I really am a fan of that Blackbird Design piece that you used Nina's Old Jeans thread for. I love her sense of color, and the conversion worked really well.

The picture on the front of Sarah Munday doesn't do the sampler justice. I saw it finished at In Stitches near Mt Vernon (Virginia) and it is stunning! It is buried in my piles too :)

Lovely progress on your SAL with Marylin and Terri, Faye! I know just what you mean about Nina's "Old Jeans" color--it's one of my favorites, too!

I'm sure you're approaching the end of the school year with mixed emotions; anxious to have more time for yourself, but sad to say goodbye to your class as they move on... Enjoy these last couple of weeks :)
