Winners, Modifications and an Update

Good morning stitching friends~~~ I am happy to announce the winner to my "200 Followers Giveaway"... I have to say, I was thrilled to read all the comments about what we are all stitching! There is quite the array of interests out there!!! It seems too, that many of you are already putting attention to the beloved Christmas holiday season....Scary to think, it IS coming up quickly!!

Congratulations to LaDonna of "Wrought by LaDonna" for being the winner of the Fredricka package!!! I hope you enjoy what I send you and I am thrilled to have drawn your name out of the hat this morning! Just email me with your mailing address and I will get this right out to you!!

200 Followers Giveaway Package
Won by LaDonna of Wrought by LaDonna

I also have to say that I had quite a few emails from people wanting to be entered in the giveaway but they do not have blogger accounts.....And, although I encouraged them to set up a blogger profile, I wanted to acknowledge their interest in my work by drawing their names out of the hat also....So, Charlene K, please email me your snail mail address as you have won a pin pillow with handmade pins~~ I used a purple silk floss that reminds me of the upcoming fall colors...Hope you like it!!!!

Purple Pin Pillow with pins....Won by Charlene K (no blog)

I have spent many an hour at the hospital these past few weeks....I wanted to do an experiment on the 2004 BBD Christmas ornament that was provided in JCS ornament issue....On the right you will see the original colorway... On the left you will see my interpretation of a fall-ish version of the same design...I used Glorianna Charcoal, Cinamon and Olive Grove silks...

2004 JCS Ornament Issue

And, of course I always have some LHN designs kitted up in my travel bag....Here is "Singing the Blues" done in the Crescent Colors version.....36 ct Summer Khaki seemed to be the fabric I had on hand that offered the right contrast...

Update on MIL.....She remains in ICU.. They are "making her comfortable" as medically they have done all they can do... With pneaumonia and the heart condition plus being 92 yrs old, she is simply tired... The days she has been coherent, we have spoken of all the good times and cried together... She is truly ready...Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes...

As my husband is insistant that I find time to do something for myself, I will be joining up with some of my stitching buddies tomorrow in SC at a long planned mini-retreat.... I NEED the break, I look forward to sitting and catching up with some good friends and maybe give my myself a little mental break...

((**Hugs**)) to everyone, Faye

Faye, prayers for you and your family. I have been in the same situation with my mother, but they know when it is time to go and it is great that she is at peace with her life. I know it is hard to let go....keep those wonderful memories close at heart. pj

Faye, I am truly sorry to hear the news of your MIL but am glad she is at peace with her condition. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers as I know it remains a difficult time for the whole family.

I will be with ya'll in spirit at the stitch a long tomorrow. Have a great time!

congratulations to your winners - beautiful stitching. What is the pattern for the pin cushion? It's so sweet.

Funny how there is the knowing that someone is "ready". My fil (80 yr old) was ready and so tired...but we also had the flip side with my dad (62 yr old) and not ready - neither were easy, neither has been easy since, but there was a tiny sense of peace with the acceptance. Good luck and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thoughts and prayers Faye. This time last year we were going through the same thing with my dear, sweet MIL. She is still much missed but her time had come.

You've been doing some nice stitching. Congrats to the winners of your giveaway and try and enjoy yourself at the retreat.

Congratulations to the winners of your blog giveaway. What wonderful stitching projects that you have been doing, I haven't seen the LHN one before. And I love the purple pin cushion pillow. I need to get started on some designs like that to keep in my purse when I find myself without my stitching like the other night at work. I wasn't to motivated on the piece that was in my locker but put a few stitches in it anyway.

I remember that moment when my great-grandma left us in her mid 90s. She was just done one day, and she was ready to go on to her husband and children that passed before her. In fact, my grandma (her daughter) visited her that day and told us all that though her body was still functioning, her spirit had already gone. Later that evening she did pass away. I hope you will find a measure of comfort at this time.

As always, your finishes are fabulous. Have a wonderful time on your retreat!

You have some wonderful finishes there, Faye!!

I have been thinking about and praying for Ada, and for the rest of your family as well. It is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one (especially a beloved mom and mom in law!), no matter how many years we have with them.

Wonderful of your DH to give you this time away - may it refresh you!!
