A start, my class and some finishes.....

I knew when I decided to treat myself to a start this week (my first brand new start of 2011..), I would probably go straight to a Quaker design...  Nothing like a wonderful "with my Needle" pattern~~ I just love about everything Ellen Chester has ever designed and Quaker Sampling II has been on my list for a good while.... I did  not have the specified Milady's Teal by Crescent Colors, but I did have Belle Soie Blue Lagoon...So, this is what I have gotton accomplished this week so far~~~~

 Quaker Sampling II
with my Needle
35 ct Weeks Straw linen
Blue Lagoon Belle Soie silk thread

And, I have now taken 2 of my 3 nights of the cut thread class being offered at my local needlework shop, Moore then Needlepoint. The very talented instructor, Marilyn Owen has been most patient with me....She has moved at a good pace, but has offered direct instruction...I am the only cross stitcher in the group but I am surrounded by very talented needlepointers..... Here is what I have gotton done so far and next Tues night we will finish the project...I can't wait to start using my verigated thread...

Finally, a few weeks back I was contacted by a fellow blogger inquiring about me finishing some of her stitched pieces.... With her permission, I am showing you 6 of the 12 ornaments I finished for her...At her request, she wanted me to complete everything but the stuffing of the ornies...So, that's what I did!!!

She has quite the collection started already for Christmas 2011~~~~

Well, time to get in the kitchen.... Tomorrow is Friday and the kiddos in my classrooms are bouncing ready for a few days off..... Here's hoping you have a great night yourselves!!

I am in love iwth your new start - that blue is amazing. I have never stitched with lle Soie silks, but lately I am tempted to give it a try after seeing some lovely colors out there!

Great job on your cutwork - you must have good nerves and steady hands!!

Wonderful finishes - I am sure the lucky person you helped out is just thrilled!

Excuse me while I pick my drooling chin from off my lap! How long did it take you to get to that point in Quaker Sampling II? Isn't that Blue Lagoon beautiful? I love the variegation but I'm not too thrilled with the silk. It gets tangled easily for me. Maybe it's just me because I've heard many good reviews of it. I am using that exact color on Liam's Sampler.
I really think I should send you my Rose Garden to finish. I don't know why that intimidates me so. I should just tackle it and hog tie the little sucker!!

Love your cut work. You ARE brave!!

Your class piece looks great! You should be so proud but I do understand about the fear of taking scissors and clipping away on your project.
