If you know me at all, you know that when I'm on intercession from school, I am at the condo at Cherry Grove Beach SC,,,, With waves echoing that familiar soft sound in the background, I have managed to dive into the new JCS Magazine.... Many of my favorite designers have "scored" true delights in this fantastic Christmas edtion.....
Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers has another seasonal winner in her "Yuletide" ornament...I knew I had to stitch it the minute I saw it~~~
40 ct light Examplar LL linen
specified overdyes

Another designer that I admire and stitch quite often are those designs of Liz Gorski of
Primrose Needleworks..............This little red bird was simply too cute to pass up~~
40 ct Flax Newcastle
specified threads

And, of course, there is that talented Tanya Anderson "The Sampler Girl"....
Her "Good Tidings to You" design made my wheels start turning about the 'just perfect' finish I have in mind.....prim, simplistic and perfect...
40 ct natural linen
specified DMC threads
Weeks Lousiana Hot Sauce floss

Life just would not be complete at the beach without adding another La-D-Da finish to my ever growing pile... I had brought 3 of her designs with me, and decided that "Your Gentleness" was calling my name.... So, here it is...Aren't those berries the prettiest deep shade of burgandy??
40 ct Flax Newcastle
npi silks
Lastly, I had promised myself to put a dent in a large WIP project that is on my
"Up for a Challenge 2011" list.....I pulled out A Quaker Christmas by Days Gone By and decided that I can set my sights on finishing this bad boy.. Its about 3/4 done and all red...So, I am going to try my best to finish her...So, here is where I stand on this project as of now..please excuse the wrinkles...she's been drug everywhere so there are quite a few dents in the linen....

Great stitching Faye! Love Days Gone By and I hope you finish it soon! There were several ornaments I saw in the issue that I thought I would like to stitch but in reality, I will never get to them. Too many other things I want to do!!! Seems as though there is never enough time anymore.
What truly lovely finishes you have accomplished on your intercession from school! LOVELY!
Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous assortment of finishes. Your ornaments are fantastic--I can't wait to see how you finish them off! Love the La D Da, and your DGB with the Faye's Red is sooooo pretty.
Beautiful work Faye. I love each one of these. Can't wait to see how you finish them, you do such creative, great work! Very inspiring.
Beautiful, as always. I'm not even a big red fan but your choices are always pleasing.
I think my favorite was the La D Da. Really nice.

WOWSERS!!! You have accomplished so much in such a short time! I love all the ornaments - I plan to stitch a few after MB - But I am in awe of the Quaker Christmas - that really will be something!
What lovely ornaments! Paulette's is among my favourites too, wish my magazine were here already... Everything else is gorgeous too, well done.
Simply amazing - can't wait until you decide to have a 'finishing' day.
Hi all,
I am new to the site and would love to know what magazines you all are referring to so I can get on their mailing list.
Also, where do you buy the linen? We have two craft stores here. Michael's and Hobby Lobby, but I have a feeling the linen will have to be ordered.
Finally, when you post up the finished ornaments, do you also post instructions on how to finish them? I've never done a tree ornament, but I am not able to stitch as much as I used to due to my fibromyalgia and pain in my hand and shoulders. I would love to do some small projects that don't take a lot of time in between the huge WIPs that I have going on right now!
Thanks,
Chelle
