~~~~~Emma Mills 1839~~~~~
Hello fellow stitchers and friends....Happy President's Day weekend....
Coming to you from Cherry Grove Beach SC where the day was a  mild 60 degrees...We are bracing for a rain event however.... But, I have plenty of K-cups for the Kureig, lots of stitching kitted up and my sweet beagle (...and hubbie too...) here to keep me company!
I know I said on my last post that Sarah Munday would be my next sampler....But, in fact I lied....As I am waiting for my silk conversions to come together for Sarah, I began stitching a smaller sampler in the meantime.... I had the opportunity to see the stitched piece in October when I met Tanya Brockmeyer of The Scarlett House and of course I fell in love with it~ Emma Mills 1839 has patiently been sitting in my basket waiting....And, now it is her time....
Emma Mills 1839
The Scarlett House
40 ct Pearled Barley
specified overdyed cotton threads
So, that's my start....Will surely look forward to stitching her up this weekend....hopefully...
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend~~
Is that Vermont Country Blend I am smelling in the kitchen???
Many blessings~~~
Faye
That is so funny you started Emma - I started her on Thursday! I just have a little bit of the border done. I also ordered Sarah Munday from Em-Li's. :)
It really doesn't matter if you lied. Whatever you're stitching is of interest! You always pick great projects.
Great new start Faye! The colours are quite lovely. My DH has been gone most of the day and I've had Vermont Country Blend brewing in my K cups since breakfast. Here's hoping I can sleep tonight!
Beautiful sampler you're working on! I'm really liking the colors in this one, too, as do the other posters have said..... Your work is always so lovely.
Now Miss Faye, I'm going to have to pay you for PR if you keep stitching and blogging about my designs, lol. I am so thrilled that you like Emma. The antique is sweet, but I thought the colors needed some spiffing up.
Hope you're having a wonderful time at the beach this weekend. You know I'm jealous. I'll email you back tomorrow. I worked on taxes today, and I'm too tired to think.
What a lovely choice. I particularly like the delicacy of the colours of threads and fabric.
What an awesome start - isn't that one of the best parts of stitching! So do you put the name of the original stitcher when you do a reproduction? I sometimes (or most) rechart my name or the city or something. I don't know why, I haven't done many so I am curious. Hope you enjoyed your weekend and stayed dry.
Sure hope the rain veers off course and leaves you alone at the beach, Faye! 60 degrees sounds wonderful to me since it is 30 here right now :)
Lovely new start--will look forward to seeing more!
What a great 'in the meantime' piece! It's cold (that means 45 this winter) and drizzling here - hope it is slow moving and leaves your long weekend alone!
Sounds like the perfect weekend! Cold and rain have settled in in the Charlotte region so you may be getting it soon. Hope you enjoyed yesterday's weather while it was there.
Haven't switched to Keurig yet. Maybe on the Christmas wishlist this year .....
What a lovely new start! I'm just a tad jealous of you being at the beach! It's snowing here in Winston although not much is accumalating (to my boys' disappointment). Enjoy your time at the beach!
This is a perfect example of why I need to stop reading blogs, I get inspired to start new projects and I never finish the ones I have! This is a beautiful start, I had not seen this one. Thanks for the enabling!
