Retreat.. Part 2~

Hello everyone~

Well.... I told you I'd be back with more photos of us kicking up our heels at the Dyeing to Stitch Retreat last weekend..... But, before I show you the Banquet photos of many who dressed up in outfits reminiscent of their birth era, I'd like to share a couple finishes of mine ... Being a member of the Ladies Prim Society, I always look forward to the bi-monthly kit and howi can make a unique item from the kit... Here, I had the idea to put this PLS kit, by Blackbird. Designs into a zippered I-pad pouch....

image
Serviceable, functional finishes.... Everyone at the retreat thought it was a great idea~ If you're going to the Myrtle Beach Stitching at the Beach next weekend, I'll have it there....

I had also made a Q~snap pouch for a customer, hello Patti~~, and it happens to incorporate another prim Ladies Society stitch.....

image
...The kits provide the linen, chart, threads. Fabric and trims.... I love them !!

I also had to wear my newest creation.... Using a Tim Holtz pocket watch found in the scrapbook section of Hobby Lobby.... I fancied it up with a few of my favorite goodies... Chenille, buttons, charms...stitched in red...

image
Just a little stitching bling... In a French primish sort of way.. :)

As for stitching at the retreat.. I was able to plant my final stitches in "Sleigh Bells".... A wonderful PDF pattern by County Rustic Primitives.... 25 ct country mocha lugana...stay tuned for its final finish....

Doesn't the prim Merry Christmas fabric match really well?? My sweet friend Myra remembered my birthday this week ( Thanks again Myra!!!) and I think that fat qtr will a perfect compliment to this design!!

Now, the Saturday night Banquet at the retreat was awesome!!! Many of the 130 attendees wore an outfit representative of their birth era.... It was a hoot!! The 80's through the 30's were there... Here's a few pictures~

What were the 1950's without Donna Reed??? And, her husband even came with that pack of cigarettes fooled up in the sleeve of his tee shirt
image

The ladies next to me were sisters decked with button down shirt, Bobbie sox and a vinyl record perched up in her hair~ it was perfect!!

image

Of course there were sailors, scarves with poodle skirts...

image

The Mod Squad...
image

Heck, even Elvis was in the building!!!! :))

image

But, we all about laughed so hard we cried when " barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen" stole the show.... GENIUS!!!!

image

As you can see, there was just too much fun that Saturday night!!! ( even Pat and Ann of Dyeing to Stitch got in on the fun.. Pat at podium with pink poodle skirt on... Ann at podium all Leathered up!!

image

Sorry for the long post.... Here's a tease of what Part 3 will bring.... Retreat gifts, winnings, purchases and exclusive retreat designs.....

I hope you enjoy your weekend..... Stitch lots~!

Kindly~

Faye

Hi Faye, Love seeing your stitch pieces finished like you do very talented. I check in every day and today it was great. Okay I have been trying to find the "Sleigh Bells" and it's not on her etsy shop. Any idea what is wrong - Thank you first for all the stitching and finishing and your help. P.S. Where can I go for the LPS? Thanks Debbie sandcastlecottage@gmail.com
