Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag

Greetings friends~

I was a little excited when I saw that Stacy Nash had designed a little something in RED a couple weeks back.... As my early morning stitch, I could barely put it down!!!

Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag
I made mine a tad wider ( about 2") than the pattern specified... I knew mine would hold my ipad..... 32 count Zweigert linen~ stained by me~ GAST Country Redwood 1 over 2~

Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag
And, I wanted to hand stitch a few turkey stitches along the bottom... I used Size 10 Camel DMC Cebelia Crochet Cotton Thread...Tonal and subtle is my style....

Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag
x x x x Tiny "x's" line the top edge inside....... x x x x

Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag
The back of the piece has lots of distressing and coffee staining....

Redwork Snowflake Sewing Bag
Here is what the front and back look like when the bag is opened...

This was really a fun project, especially knowing it was something I could use and be functional~

Soon...... Giveaway information~ I promise!!!

Smiles.....

Faye

Oh my gosh! I am so going to do this! What an inspiration you are! I hope to meet you this coming fall. I am definitely coming to Myrtle Beach for the stitching retreat! You are such an inspiration to use my heirloom sewing skills and incorporating cross stitch handwork to creating beautiful useful items!

So beautiful Faye, I love the Turkey Stitches. I am going to try my hand at those one day. I really want to learn to do more decorative stitches on my finishes.

Have a beautiful day and try and stay warm. I am not liking this COLD weather.

Your added touches always make your finishes so special, Faye--just love what you've done with this red design :)

Faye, I tried to email you but the mail bounced back. Where did you get the pattern? I've contacted Stacy...no answer! The distributor doesn't have the pattern and various shop owners I contacted have not received patterns or replies from Stacy in weeks!!!!
I would like to try my hand with this bag since yours turned out so beautiful.
