Hello friends......
I just HAD to share today's stitch finish that has languished my stitch basket since summertime..... I knew when I saw photos of this pretty stitch on Country Samplers shop walls, I would be definitely be stitching it to hang over my pie safe..... The last stitch was planted today..... It was a 6 month work in progress but I cannot wait to get it framed now~
Land of the Free by Willow Tree Samplings
The phrase is what originally captured my eye.....
Stitched on 32 count Lakeside Pearled Barley linen....
Design size is 21 inches by 8 inches.....
The first house uses Gentle Arts Aged Pewter .... Nice blue~gray tones..
My second house uses Gentle Arts Old Red Paint instead of the specified Walnut..... I'm just partial to red houses.....
The third is a whitewashed simple abode~~
Chamomile house anchors the right side of these row houses...
This design was such a joy to stitch.... I've become accustomed to stitching with 1 thread in my needle, so using 2 threads on this 32 ct linen allowed me to rediscover thicker thread coverage... I like the look~
The land of the free~ because of the brave~
....Getting ready to start things back up in my classroom Monday.... First, I'll have 22 precious 6 year olds to greet and hug~ We will catch up on all the Christmas stories.... Settle down a bit and hopefully come Tuesday, we will be back on track to learn! Plus, my craftroom will be back to humming next week as well.... Those of you with orders sent to me already are first up! So, get ready~
Happy stitching all~

It is beautiful! I too love stitching Patriotic pieces. I may have to add this pattern to my stash.
I love the sentiment, too, but the design is great, too! Yeah, back into the 'real' new year - six months!
Touchdown! 🏈
What beautiful piece! I love how you changed the second house to red. It fit right in with the patriotic theme. Congratulations on the finish.
Beautiful. I would love to do this and hang in my office (i am a NP at the VA). My vets would love it. I might have to get this one.
Beautiful finish! Wishing you a happy new year and that your students settle down really quickly!

Oh, my goodness! Your piece is just marvelous. I must confess I was not familiar with Willow Hill Samplings, and now see that they have several patriotic designs. Thank you SO much for bringing this designer to my attention. Your color choices and stitching are simply stunning. Can't wait to see what frame you choose...and can't wait to see what other finishes you share with us in 2015.
beautiful!!!
Beautiful finish!!!
Great job!
Great piece and the Old Red Paint was a good choice as the colors seem perfect. Looking forward to seeing it framed.

I love this piece so much also mainly because of the verse and the houses and people. I remember liking it when I first saw it; the thing I don't remember for sure is whether I have already purchased it or not! I need to check that out and get it ordered if I didn't. Don't you just love Lakeside Linen to stitch on? It is one of my favorites. I am so glad that you posted your finish; it was just what I needed this morning. Enjoy your kid's at school, and happy stitching!
Really pretty. I might have to do that one. Awesome saying. Happy New Year Faye.
Really so lovely, Faye--your color choices are perfect!! What a great way to start out the new year!
A beautiful finish!
Beautiful. Glad you had time to finish it before you have to go back to work.
What a beautiful finish!
It is stunning Faye! Love your colour choices. x
I have this in my stash, and have to say your color changes are great! GAST Old Red Paint is such a good choice to put some color onto this design. If you don't mind, I'd like to use your color choices. Great finish!
I love that piece, have had my eye on for awhile now, but I love the colors your chose to use. I love the little Christmas stockings that you did on your last post, did you make the pattern up or is it a pattern for sale?
Happy New Year to you!
I love this piece! A beautiful finish -- I like your changes.
Lovely finish Faye!Great way to start the new year.
Beautiful finish Faye ! I have this started but I only seem to work on it in the summer months. I am bad about stitching "in season" - hope you enjoy it and please show it again after framing. Good luck in the new year ! with warm and "wooley thoughts" Mel
Very nice finish! Don't think I have seen that completed... The saying is also what catches my eye! Hugs!
A wonderful finish.
Love it. Your color choices are so right. It's gorgoeus - glad you could finish it before school started again though I bet you are happy to be back with your 6 year olds. Hugs Patti xxx
That is just beautiful, I love the saying also.
Love the red house. Lots of places look like that around here. (Well, not in MY neighborhood.) Happy new year!
Gorgeous! Great work!
Congrats on a fantastic finish!!
Beautiful finish! Last week was our first week back to school as well and we had 3 snow days!
Always a great feeling to finish a big project and place it in the "To-DONE" pile! Been working on a new blog of my own, so I've gotten behind on reading your last several posts. Catching up tonight. It's such a treat to read, and I always look forward to it. Thanks for sharing.
