I will not have a stock to pull orders from...., I take your request of fabric colors and go from there... You may mail me your fabric (half yard of both outer and lining fabrics~)... If so, your price will be 30.00 instead of 32.00.... Many of you were interested in the pretty cross stitch piece shown in my roll-up... It's one of the designs from Lori Brechlin's Autumn at Notforgotten Farm book.... I love this book of her's as it is chocked full of designs and ideas... Check it out!!.... When a customer, (thank you Linda :)) recently challenged me to put my spin on this concept, I was stepping W-A-Y out of my box.... Her comments went something like this.... "I have something I'd like you to consider... Or, you can tell me to go jump in the lake!.... But, I'd like Carolina Stitcher to come up with some kind of a roll up that I can lay my project linen flat, roll it up and secure it to keep it protected and unwrinkled....." Knowing there are a few things ready made out there like this already, I took her up on her challenge to see what I could come up with.... It ended up being less intimidating than originally thought... And, after several mock-up designs in my craftroom, here's what I came up with~


20 inches long..... With 2 ties to secure.....


Quilted cotton fabric to lay your linen on.... Rolls out about 14 inches~




Rolling up will keep your linen without fold creases....


The ends are secured with round, fabric covered discs....



Your project is safely rolled up inside....


Secured with nice ties... And subtle Carolina Stitcher accents...

~ Finishes and a special story~

.... School has started back and I have to say I'm absolutely in love with my new batch of little First Grade darlings!! They come to me wide eyed and ready to learn.... It's going to be a fantastic year!!!!

This sweet lady touched my heart with her finishing request.... You see, she lost her daughter 3 years ago.... Her adult daughter... Her adult daughter who collected angels.... So, this wonderful and very thoughtful mom, has stitched a rememberance angel each of the three years in honor of her daughter... This year she asked I finish the ornament for her... Her only request was to make it special... I love how this mom still cherishes the memories of her daughter... And, I bet she always will....

On the back of the ornament, her name is delicately stitched.... I used cherished hand tatted lace from my very dear friend... Who is in heaven also smiling down~



Isn't that the sweetest story??

As August winds down and September is on the horizon, I get excited just thinking about my long awaited trip to Norforgotten Farms " A Gathering of Primitive Friends Show"... Sept 20th at Notforgotten Farm in Amherst VA... I've never attended, but have really wanted to.... This is the year!!!! Here is the link for more info about this great event~

It's beginning to look....

Happy Friday!

I thought I'd give a shout out to the ladies who've been sending me their Christmas stitches to finish.... Don't get me wrong, these Fall stitches that are out there right now are beautiful, but I'm seeing quite a few of you getting a jump on the holiday season too... I'd like to feature a few of the finishes I've done for these smart stitchers~ You'll see many LittleHouse designs~ and more.......






This one is a design out of the 2014 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Preview issue



I taught myself to the Coral Stitch and added as an accent to this one~










This ornament bag will look sweet with holly leaves poking out the top~


This one will too.... I thought "couching" twine was a subtle touch on this more rustic LHN design.....


Beaded hangers often add to the theme....

That's it for today..... My last weekend before teacher workdays begin.... Then a brand new batch of darling 6year olds will come into my classroom on the 25th~~ I can't wait!!!.... Oh, some of you have emailed about my cut off date for Christmas finishes.... It's looking like October 15 will be the cutoff date... If you're thinking you may need me, but may miss the date by a little, please email me now so I can pencil you in..... Happy to help!!

Designer Spotlight~ Lil Abby's by Abby Rose

...Happy Friday friends & stitchers!

I have been stitching, a little at the time, on the Lil Abby series by Abby Rose Designs~. Gayle has other beautiful larger designs, but wanted to do a 9 part collection of smaller pieces.... She wanted to stitch them individually and have me stitch them together in one large piece of linen.... Honestly, this has been a very easy project! The approx 5" x 5" (32 count) designs have come together over time beautifully.... I couldn't wait to show you the progress.... And #9 will be releasing soon.... To make this all complete..... I'll let the photos do the talking.....


....each block includes a word we try to live by.....

























....such sweet stitches to stitch individually or collectively.... Wouldn't these be perfect as little pin pillows displayed in an old wooden bowl??? Hmmmmm, I may looking forward to re stitching them as is, or priming them up a little....
