~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This sweet lady touched my heart with her finishing request.... You see, she lost her daughter 3 years ago.... Her adult daughter... Her adult daughter who collected angels.... So, this wonderful and very thoughtful mom, has stitched a rememberance angel each of the three years in honor of her daughter... This year she asked I finish the ornament for her... Her only request was to make it special... I love how this mom still cherishes the memories of her daughter... And, I bet she always will....
Little House Needleworks~ Hallelujah~ Three angels.......how perfect~
On the back of the ornament, her name is delicately stitched.... I used cherished hand tatted lace from my very dear friend... Who is in heaven also smiling down~
Isn't that the sweetest story??
As August winds down and September is on the horizon, I get excited just thinking about my long awaited trip to Norforgotten Farms " A Gathering of Primitive Friends Show"... Sept 20th at Notforgotten Farm in Amherst VA... I've never attended, but have really wanted to.... This is the year!!!! Here is the link for more info about this great event~
Signing out for now..... Enjoy the rest of the week!!!
Lovely finishes, and a very sweet story about the angel ornament. So special that you used the tatted lace from your friend for the back. I bet it's fun to have a bunch of new first graders every year! That is such a fun age!
Stunning finishes Faye. Each one is very special, especially the little angel ornament in memory of her daughter. Have fun with your new Grade 1's! We wish, as teachers here in BC, that we can go back to work but the government isn't going to back down and make a deal with us...so sad.
Faye everything you do is so special - from your finishing to how you feel about each project. You can just tell you put your heart into what you do. I can also tell you are a great teacher - someone who really cares and nurtures - what a jewel - I do hope to get to meet you one day. Glad you are making the trek to Notforgotten Farm - I have hooked several of her patterns but I don't think I have stitched any - funny huh? take care Mel
Beautiful finishes as always, Faye! Good luck with your little ones. My Hubby is always stoked at the beginning of the school year but it seems to wear off earlier and earlier each year. Of course, he has much older little ones (high school)! LOL
How sweet those angels are. I think you are a perfect person to finish her ornament!
The strawberry piece, with the French General fabric - do you know the pattern name or designer?
As always, your finishing and stitching is fabulous!
