...settling back in the groove was rough today.... I love long weekends, especially those that humble you such as Memorial Day..... But, with 8 school days left in the Year Round school calendar...... Let's just say things are wide open on the job front right now.....
I did have a chance to complete the stitching on two smaller WIP's over the weekend.... But before I show them, I wanted to post my update on AAWFAA... The Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year blog is growing with gorgeous sampler finishes.... Here is my current sampler...
....and, here are the couple smaller stitches I completed....
Liberty....by Midsummers Night....
.... Thanks to the fellow blogger who allowed me to borrow their chart....
25 count Lugana.... Specified overdyes....
...and a small freebie from The Drawn Thread; Four Fat Friends
**here** is the free chart.... I plan on a unique prim patriotic finish for this one....
Well, time to wind down.... I have been trying to catch up on blog reading and I'm afraid I have been awful with the lack of commenting..... Thanks to all who gave me a shout out on my recent finish Down Virginia Way..... :)
......hoping everyone has a great week.....

Weekend finishing
Greetings friends.
This weekend was filled with finishing for many customers.... And myself..... At last post, I had stitched the chart Down Virginia Way by Threadwork Primitives and the Sarah Tobias Pinkeep by Blackbird Designs..... A unique finish was in order, so, I found the most perfect box to paint, distress and wax....
The box was a simple unfinished lidded box I found at Hobby Lobby...
Distressing the corners made the look complete on the exterior..
The inside of the box needed a little dressing up... Or "dressing down" as I like to say when priming thing up....
I wanted a slightly padded bottom... And a padded tufted piece inside the lid.... Browns and blues are the overall theme....
With the Sarah Tobias Pinkeep sitting inside, I thought they made a nice set....
I had fun with this finish..... Thanks again Dyeing to Stitchfor awarding me the chart and linen for this fun stitch....
Make it a great week....

Down Virginia Way along with a Sarah Tobias stitch
Greetings friends......
I'm so glad to be home!!~~ After four days at our annual conference, alot of us will returning to work tomorrow better prepared to enrich and educate the children in our classrooms....it's always fun to go, but comforting to arrive back home!!
I did want to share a couple stitched finishes from last week... Threadwork Primitives sure did design a winner in "Down Virginia Way".... Stitched on 40 count vintage Exempler linen with specified overdyes....
Here is a close up of the darling flower....
...And, I recently stitched the pin pillow in the Sarah Tobias book by Blackbird Designs on a piece of country mocha 25 ct.... I've been in a "blues with browns" frame of mind lately...... so I switched up the gold in Sarah's flowers and made them blue using GAST Mountain Mist.... I love that shade of blue....
... I think they will be finished as a set.... Don't you agree?.
Here's hoping everyone has a great week.... A picture walk soon of recent finishes I've done for many of you fantastic stitchers....
