Sweet finishes~

....Happy Monday friends....!

....So many of you, like myself, love the beautiful designs by With thy Needle & Thread... Brenda Gervais has a way of capturing softness and simplicity in cross stitch.... I enjoy taking those designs and creating a complimentary finish that keeps in the theme.... Here are three pieces that I finished for you using antique laces, hand dyed velvets, old buttons & simple handeworke~ Enjoy!

Designer spotlight~ Primitive Needleworks by Caryn

....Greetings everyone!

So many of us are looking towards the next season for our stitching, so I'd like to show you a recent Fall finish I did for Caryn G of Primitive Needleworks....

This prim design was made into a scissor pillow to compliment her nicely distressed linen and threads..... Just slide your scissors in the front....

image
I fell in love with the skinny bats and darling arched black cat....

image
Just look at the cat face and those purple stockings....

image
I kept the finishing simple with nice autumnal fabrics, a little hand embellishment and a couple of small accents...

Caryn has more prim designs offered on her etsy... Stay tuned for more on this up and coming designer~~

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Simple stitches comes to life~~

....Greetings friends & happy Friday~

I thought I would show you how I took simple stitches and brought them to life....

I knew when I received duplicate stitches from my dear friend Terri, I would be creating a complimenting set of some type..... So, I used one of the stitches in the main finish, while using the other stitch in an accessory piece~ Let me show you what I mean.....

image
This cute witches silhouette became the centerpiece of a fabric Diddie bag.... And, the matching witch was made into a detachable ornament.... Or, bag tag~

image
The back of the dangling bag tag is appliquéd with a wool star~

image
Pinning the bag tag makes it more portable, to be used on her Halloween tree..

image
A flat cushion.... With simple edging~

image

image
Rounding out the three piece set, a Boo! pincushion... Stained and distressed within an inch of its life..... **sigh**

image
This ensemble will look nice as a grouping.... Or scattered separately among her other decorations~ Thank you Terri for giving me full creative reign to bring your beautiful stitches to life!!

Enjoy your weekend~
