Mega organization and a new release~

Brrrrrr....... Chilly greetings all!!

I was recently contacted by a dear friend and fellow stitcher to make her a few project bags.... She had stitched all of the designs in the "A Most Suitable Name" series by Jeannette Douglas.... These darling stitches are the perfect size to sew into the front of project bags...... Talk about getting organized! Take a look.....

I absolutely loved matching fabrics to these pretty stitches..... Enjoy, my friend!!!

I have had a few requests for a shorter project roll.... My usual length is 19"; good for larger stitches and samplers to be rolled up in for safe travel..... I am introducing a shorter 12" length project roll at the upcoming Primitive Stitcher's Society Retreating March. All the same bells and whistles will be found on this one.... Just slightly shorter and more suitable for you ornament size linen cuts.....

More info to come on this useful and serviceable stitching accessory..... I am finalizing my price and making a list of those Stitcher's requesting to be put on the order list.... Please email, comment on my blog or pm me on Facebook if interested.....

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Lover of all things red......

Greetings all..... The ice storm continues and I consider myself one of the very lucky to have power in North Carolina.... Hang in there all of you that are without needed services like power, water, cable or phone.... The end is in sight~

I've been playing again in the craftroom.... I'm making project bags for the upcoming Primitive Stitcher's Society retreat in Atlanta GA in March...... I will also have a few limited release items for the retreat....I can't show those items quite yet but what I CAN show you is my latest finish of Country Rustic Primitives design "Prim Valentine Pinkeep"....

I love the simplicity of this design and I shared it with some of you on Facebook yesterday....

" ..I heavily stained 32 count linen cross stitching over 1 using DMC 3777.... I'll be using Julie Ploehn-Vigna (Auntie Ju's) dyed Valdani Wool in Primitive Red as accent thread..... "

I love alternating fabric and linen for a layered effect... Topped with hand stitching of course! Isn't the wool thread nice?

I made a pocket on its backside to tuck messages inside..... Many of my colleagues at school remind me "This is YOUR year to shine..!" ...... If you're reading this Sue, I'm smiling...!

My back pockets are lined with a contrasting fabric peaking out of the top of the pocket.... I feel this look ties things together... I also appliquéd a wool heart so that it's popping out of the edge of the pocket.... Just something that's a little different..... The unexpected~

Jenny Hoffmans Etsy has lots of charts listed on her shop, Country Rustic Primitives.... Go check things out~

Hoping you are safe, snuggling warmly and happily stitching....

Brrrr..... And a couple finishes~

Greetings all! We're preparing for a little of the snow that so many of you guys are seeing.... Hoping for very little though! I wanted to share a couple stitches and finishes I've added to my collection~

I've been a member for a while of the Little Sparrow Pinkeepe Club that Tammy Black of Scattered Seeds offers.... These are well planned kits that includes every thing you need to not only stitch the design, but finish it as well..... Tammy is masterful at creative packaging and I absolutely love the designs she creates!

This round Pinkeepe is a double sided stitch with gray seam tape attached on the seams....

There is even a darling charm to attach..... Isn't it sweet?????

I also fell in love with this small stitch by Brenda Gervais of With thy Needle & Thread.... I finished mine as a simple ornament rather than the Needlebook shown on the chart....

I also attached Rick-Rack around the edges.... Attaching by hand is a true labor of love.....

Plus, I've always had "a thing" for all things oval!

Another double sided stitch, the back is a simple pretty basket.....

More project bags are rolling out my craftroom door.... So many of you are getting organized... The 12" X 15" size is the most popular size... Contact me if you're needing my help with the Carolina Stitcher zippered project bags~

March will be here before you know it which means lots of us will be heading to Marietta GA for the long awaited annual Primitive Stitcher's Society Retreat!!! I look forward to meeting many of you and enjoy some stitching! I will also be teaching a class which includes rusty tin, wool and a few other needfuls.... Again, I hope to see many of you there!

Enjoy you day! Stay warm, safe and stitching~

A few recent finishes.....

Greetings friends and fellow Stitcher's!!

Brrrrrr here in the Carolina's! It's been unusually wet and rainy here but more so it's gotton very cold too..... That hasn't stopped me from getting busy in my craftroom after work in the evenings..... I recently completed my finishing on this lovely set of stitching needfuls.... Miladys Needle put out a kit a while back called "Cottage Charm Stitcher's Pocket".... I actually have it in my stash to stitch.... The beautiful alphabet fabric is included in the kit and I only wish I could buy yardage of it!!

Cottage Charm Stitcher's Pocket kit by Miladys Needle

The pocket is made to hang around your neck..... I made cording out of 2 DMC shades of green...

The Needlebook slides right inside the lined fabric pocket~

The Needlebook has a pocket for your tiny scissors and a wool flap to hold your pins and needles...

A small scrap of the alphabet fabric makes the pocket.... I hand stitched it on the lining using the blind stitch..

Edged with more custom made cording there is a corded loop to accommodate the round button closure..

I loved this project.... And it's owner does as well......

Additionally, I have finished a couple pieces for a sweet lady who, like me, L-O-V-E-S "With thy Needle&Thread" designs.... These 2 pieces simply spoke to me and I let my creativity fly!

Bluebird out my Window by With thy Needle Thread

I knew antique buttons had to be a part of this finish.....

And the primitive aqua script fabric seemed to be a just-right fit..... Lace along with another aqua tone fabric that has tiny flower buds that mimick the cross stitch design rounded out my supplies for this pillow....

And to compliment that pillow, another WtNT design was made into a small pillow....
Lots of creamy buttons embellish this sweet design~

Hand dyed rick-rack edges the arched stitch as I hand attached that to the back ground fabric.... Then the layer of buttons came last.....

Two spring themed accessories just waiting for warmer days~~

Keep up the great stitching people!!! I love what you send me and I'm ready to lend my creative flair in finishing your stitched pieces into useful and serviceable treasures~~

Much love....
