2016's last picture walk.......

Greetings friends!!!! Hard to believe we're flipping the calendar soon to January 2017!! Hard to believe....
 
 I hope everyone's Christmas was nice... Mine was.... My children and I spent Christmas Day together.... It always amazes me how they've become grown men with lives of their own..... I'm SO proud of them!
I'd like to take a quick moment to say a heartfelt "Thank~you" for all the nice comments, words of encouragement and inspirational feedback you give me with my blog posts.... I truly draw my creativity and designing inspiration from you, my friends and customers~ 2017 will bring continued stitching, sewing and finishing services... so, stay tuned~ 
 
I'd like to share a few finishes from early December...... 
 
 
Valentine Sampler
With thy Needle & Thread
A co-ordinated 5 piece set
 
I painted, distressed and waxed a paper mâché box...... Then mounted the padded heart trimmed with mini-Pom Pom trim~
 
I like to make a padded bottom in the box.....   
Pin pillow fits nicely inside.....  
....tiny "x's" line the seams......  
Rouched distressed seam binding on the scissor fob~  
...a tiny wool appliqué red heart on the back...   
A classic With thy Needle & Thread Needlebook... I love all the  buttons dangling along the bottom~  
A pocket and padded pin cushion is inside.....  
All topped off with a monogrammed 12 x 15" Carolina Stitcher project bag....

One of my favorites......

When you stitch something many times, it qualifies as one of your favorites~ Many of you have this older classic chart in your inventory at home..... I have to say that one of my all time favorites is an Out of Print chart 18th Century Stitchers Pinwheel by The Goode Huswife ...  I love monochrome stitches.... I love alphabets.... I love pinwheels because they can easily be finished into an ornament..... I love collections~ Take a look......  

I've stitched many of them.....

 

....mostly in reds.... I love red~ 

 

Here's a few in a tray to display..... approximately 3" in diameter......

 

Simple cording.... a charm on the back.... 

You'll see I like using leftover scraps of linens for my backing fabric.......

 

 

I've given a few way as gifts..... I try to stitch a couple each year.....

The deep freeze has arrived in the Carolinas!!!! Brrrrr.... I'm guessing it's about time since its mid-December~ We've been spoiled some, so it's time to throw another log on the fire!  Today's picture walk showcases several more of YOUR stitches that were sent to me to creatively finish.... here you go~

Tonight's Christmas picture walk.....

Greetings friends everywhere!  The countdown is on as the children in my classroom count days until Christmas break..... Bless their hearts... they don't really have a concept of time... but Tuesday is right around the corner!    Tonight's picture walk highlights many gifts I have finished up for my customers... Stitch Guild exchange gifts, goodies for friends and even gifts of rememberence~ Take a look....

We all know that the holidays can bring on sadness and anxiety to many... it's not always a joyous occasion to some~ This stitcher wanted to commemorate the death of her husband by stitching precious, one of-a-kind ornaments for her children..... I was SO touched when given the opportunity to create these ornaments for her family.... A true labor of love that will be used to reflect back on happy times when their dad was living.....

Today's picture walk.....

Greetings friends and fellow stitchers...... it's been a little while but the good news is that ALL of your Christmas goodies have been  finished up and are safely in your hands! It truly is the most glorious time of the year!  The hum of my sewing machine is gently winding down...
