Greetings friends and fellow stitchers!
~ I wanted to show the houses I've been constructing of late.... I certainly don't have my builders license, but have been hammering away at these homes none the less.... I absolutely love stitching ANYTHING with a house in it!
First, here's my completed project of Liberty by Midsummer Night Designs~~~
~ A small quilted piece to lay flat on the table, or hang on my wire tabletop stand.... I felt like a few appliquéd stars spruced up things a bit....
Next, I just HAD to stitch up Liberty House by With thy Needle & Thread... The color palette is just perfect for the Americana collections we all have....
The American flag is waving in the breeze and what's not to love about the gorgeous red house?....
Last, but certainly not least, I have laid all the bricks, put on the roof and installed all the windows in The Scarlet House Ann Priest sampler..... This is going to be a gorgeous reproduction sampler, once completed~
I need to get front door painted.... That's the next thing on my to-do list!
... Please be safe, my friends, as we begin observing Independence Day... Remember why Americans pay tribute to our country, our freedom and our liberty...
Blessings to you all~~~

Strawberry Hill Scissor Keepe picture walk....
Greetings friends...thanks for stopping by~
First off, I'd like to thank everyone for your overwhelming response to my last post featuring " Dame of the Needles..." Wow! Looks like I'm not the only lover of all things by Brenda Gervais! And, a special thank you to those who have emailed about finishing your piece...... Thanks again for confidence in me~ it's all so inspirational~.....
For me, the past week has meant fellowship and gathering of stitching lovers! It can be so refreshing to bond with others who share our craft... And when like minds come together... Well, one thing leads to two more, on and on and on.... I love it! Which brings me to my strawberry story.......
Recently I cross stitched Strawberry Hill Huswife and I really REALLY wanted to make the Scissor Keepe afterward.... I had all the necessary supplies, so.....
.
The directions are very easy to follow and it didn't take too very long.... I did add a blanket stitched edging to the piece and added blanket stitch along the edge of the pocket so as to not stretch or distort... Now I hope to sew up the Huswife.... They'll make a nice set....
Speaking of strawberries, I'll end with a few photos of handmade strawberries of mine... My practice pieces of sort...
I hope you enjoyed your walk with me through the berry patch~~~

Dame of the Needles by With thy Needle & Thread....
Greetings stitchers.....
Thanks to all of you who entered the "Guess my project Giveaway..." It sure was fun to get all of the responses.... Of the 84 emails, 77 guessed correctly! Amazing!!!! And, such an array of count of linens and thread color preferences..... I loved reading all the emails.. Yes! Brenda Gervais of With thy Needle &Thread has done it again!!!!!!
But, before I announce the name pulled out of the hat, I'd like to present... My finished version of this beautiful design....
Stitched with all the specified threads on Olde Towne 36 count R&R linen from Dyeing to Stitch.... Isn't it sweet??
Here is the inside of the needle roll.... The smaller appliquéd pin cushion is tacked on the inside lining.... Also, the vintage seam tape is also sewn down to tie your favorite scissors in place.... And, what can I say about the appliquéd blue bird..??.. I had 2 wools that matched so that the body of the bird is a subtle plaid.... I really enjoy handiwork....
Here is a closer look of the pretty bird..... Notice the small sampler pack of needles that I bought when purchasing the chart!!! Brenda thinks if it all....
The antique buttons I collect sure did come in handy... I love how the dangle slightly.... The perfect accent...
And, if you know me, I use everything.... So with my scrap of blue wool, I thought a mini-strawberry emery would be cute.... It's even stuffed with diced up pieces of scrap wool... :)
Now, if you are one of those stitchers who are planning on stitching this beautiful piece, please do call on me with your finishing needs.... I have all the supplies on hand; from the wools and tiny button for the birds eye to the calico fabric, vintage seam tape and dangling buttons! Email me for a quote... I'm here to help anyone!!
Now...... I'd like for
Leslie H of Leslie's Garden & other Delights to please email me! Your name was drawn for linen and some threads in the giveaway.... Congrats Leslie!!!!!
As summer cranks up, enjoy your time, sip a little lemonade and be safe..... Now...., where's my next project....?
