Proud moments and more.......
Brrrrrrr.......from the Carolinas~
Hello my friends! Happy Sunday evening..... There has been a little flurry here this week.... Not talking about the flurries that so many of you are having.... But, finishing activity in my craft room... Like alot of you guys, I've done some organizing, purging and basically getting things back in a routine~ I thought I'd share a few photos of gifts sets you guys asked me to help you with.... So, please take a look ~~
Project rolls remain popular gifts for friends... This lady felt like her 2 BFF stitching friends along with herself needed matching project rolls....
I make them in the 20" length so you can roll up your linen in the roll for protection....
I like to add a little bling where the tying ribbons are attached~
The goodies are 34.00 each; plus mailing~ contact me at lriggsbee@nc.rr.com if interested.....
More gift sets were being envisioned this week....
This customer wanted her tea loving friends to be gifted 7" x 9" bags to hold their favorite tea bags, spoons & sweeteners as they gathered to stitch... Wasn't that the sweetest idea???
Fully lined; french seams~
The tiniest of teapot charms were attached as zipper pulls.... Can't you hear the stitching chatter now as they sip hot tea and stitch??
I can't let another blogpost past by without spotlighting a most proud moment for our family.... Humor me as I share photos, proud parent moments, of our youngest childs college graduation..... December brought on not only Christmas celebrations but milestone celebrations for the Riggsbee family~
Phillips graduation was a culmination of years of his hard work... This is true relief you are seeing here!
My husband is here with both of our sons~~We are very proud parents!!
That's it for tonight..... Have a great week..... Stay safe and warm with lots of stitching time!!!!!

....."Land of the Free" finish.....
Hello friends......
I just HAD to share today's stitch finish that has languished my stitch basket since summertime..... I knew when I saw photos of this pretty stitch on Country Samplers shop walls, I would be definitely be stitching it to hang over my pie safe..... The last stitch was planted today..... It was a 6 month work in progress but I cannot wait to get it framed now~
Land of the Free by Willow Tree Samplings
The phrase is what originally captured my eye.....
Stitched on 32 count Lakeside Pearled Barley linen....
Design size is 21 inches by 8 inches.....
The first house uses Gentle Arts Aged Pewter .... Nice blue~gray tones..
My second house uses Gentle Arts Old Red Paint instead of the specified Walnut..... I'm just partial to red houses.....
The third is a whitewashed simple abode~~
Chamomile house anchors the right side of these row houses...
This design was such a joy to stitch.... I've become accustomed to stitching with 1 thread in my needle, so using 2 threads on this 32 ct linen allowed me to rediscover thicker thread coverage... I like the look~
The land of the free~ because of the brave~
....Getting ready to start things back up in my classroom Monday.... First, I'll have 22 precious 6 year olds to greet and hug~ We will catch up on all the Christmas stories.... Settle down a bit and hopefully come Tuesday, we will be back on track to learn! Plus, my craftroom will be back to humming next week as well.... Those of you with orders sent to me already are first up! So, get ready~
Happy stitching all~

Last of the gift finishes.....
Greetings friends and Happy New Year!
......Brrrrrr~ Good chilly morning to most of you~ As we turn our sights to organizing and tidying up, I thought I would share a few finishes that I did for stitching friends...... Many of these were gifts you gave to others.....
I added the heart hand stitching and colonial knot as embellishment.....
The blue version was very pretty also...... These are by iStitch Designs~....
I used some of my favorite sampler style fabric for their backing....
These were gifts for 5 friends..... Blackbird Designs Remember Me
This customer wanted each friend to have a pin pillow that was simple and unique, yet all similar~
So, she stitched them in different colorways....
All filled with crushed walnut shells.....
A special pin and seam tape as accent.....
Now, isn't that a special friend who would do that???....
Impressive as a collection.....
I never tire sewing and finishing this collection..... This was the sixth set of Tanya Brockmeyer of Scarlett House's "Polka Dos & Alphabets" design...
The pin pillow is darling ......
I love everything that has a thread spool included....
The weighted fob... I know one of this collection was mailed to a friend in France.... I bet they fell in love with the polka dot linen~
Speaking of collections.... Little House Needleworks Virtue pillows will always be popular.....
When I finish these, I leave no raw edges...
Rather, I sew the wool to the backing, turn right sides out... Then hand stitch the blanket stitch on the edges....
I leave you with a couple snaps of my ornaments as I was packing them up yesterday..... All were put away but these.... Some of my favorites.....
Threadwork Primitives~ Be Ye Merry..... One of my absolute favorites!
Enjoy this glorious day!!! May 2015 bring everyone happiness, good health & lots of stitching!
