Things happen in threes~~~

Greetings fellow stitching buds,
Hello friends..... We're about washed away here in the Carolinas with the massive amounts of rains we've been having.... But the weatherman has promised there is relief in sight!!! I'm holding him to it :)
So many of you ooo'd and ahhhh'd over my last post about the pin drums... Thanks!!!! I appreciate it and looks like I'll be seeing some of your works soon so you can enjoy them finished up~~~ again, thanks!
This week, I was drawn to three ladies who happened to arrive in the craft room about the same time a few weeks back....and, just this week two more have joined them, but you know things happen in threes it seems....
Dame of the Needles
I've had requests to finish yours just like I had finished my Dame of the Needles by With thy Needle & Thread.... So, I got myself busy~~~

Drumming~~

Drumming has been on my mind.... Take a look!
What fun I have lately putting together a few pin drums.... Thanks to Stacy Nash and Blackbird designs, there has been some wonderful designs created for this unique finish...
Blackbird designs has a new-ish book out, Maria Selby Humphrey 1831~ that really captured my eye....

I put wool on the ends and couched the recommended chenille trim.... Stitched on 28 ct linen, using 2 threads over 2...

I love how she's tightly packed and standing tall **( side note: I use a dense fiberfill here by Morning Glory... I buy it by the box, found at Walmart... It's the densest I have found, which helps pack tightly...FYI )
Isn't she nice nestled next to Netty?

Speaking of Stacy Nash's design, Netty's Sampler Pinkeep Drum..... She's a little shorter, but darling....

or, perhaps you have a pin to top your drum with.... Do you have stitched rectangular designs you would like help with? Contact me and I will be happy to finish them into a unique Pin Drum for you~~~. lriggsbee@nc.rr.com

...Last week was a little rough for me... I won't get into that, but the timing of this Random Act of Kindness was perfectly ... Stitching friends are the absolute best and sweet Carol from CA, had perfect timing! We share the love of all things red and she had thought of me when ordering from the Attic.... I was blown away....
image
Carol, you were so sweet to think of me and I will treasure these perfectly designed red Bohin scissors forever~~~
Lastly, I will leave you with a parting shot of my baby.... My 22 year old baby and his sweet girlfriend, Abby... I thought this picture summarizes happiness, youthfulness and love....
Untitled
Many blessings to you all.....

Building houses.....

Greetings friends and fellow stitchers!

~ I wanted to show the houses I've been constructing of late.... I certainly don't have my builders license, but have been hammering away at these homes none the less.... I absolutely love stitching ANYTHING with a house in it!

First, here's my completed project of Liberty by Midsummer Night Designs~~~
image

~ A small quilted piece to lay flat on the table, or hang on my wire tabletop stand.... I felt like a few appliquéd stars spruced up things a bit....

image

Next, I just HAD to stitch up Liberty House by With thy Needle & Thread... The color palette is just perfect for the Americana collections we all have....
Liberty

Liberty

The American flag is waving in the breeze and what's not to love about the gorgeous red house?....

Last, but certainly not least, I have laid all the bricks, put on the roof and installed all the windows in The Scarlet House Ann Priest sampler..... This is going to be a gorgeous reproduction sampler, once completed~

image

I need to get front door painted.... That's the next thing on my to-do list!

image

... Please be safe, my friends, as we begin observing Independence Day... Remember why Americans pay tribute to our country, our freedom and our liberty...

Blessings to you all~~~
