Good morning friends!!! Happy Monday and lets get started.... I will get right with it because I have finishing ideas swirling in my head already this morning.... Ideas I will apply to your finishing orders in my craftroom.... Its such a great feeling! But, first, I would like to share a few goodies that have arrived at their owners homes.... Finishes that were created by me~
Mice in the Sewing Room
With thy Needle &Thread
I thought the tiny pillow needed a scissor pocket~ And, a spool of thread charm~
Hats off to Uncle Sam
Blackbird Designs
Intended to be finished into a drum... however this cutie will hang in a grapevine wreath....
The tiniest of French Knots make this piece adorable!
Remember Me
Plum Street Samplers
I was lucky enough to get to Norforgotten Farms a couple weekends ago and purchased one of the Sewing Trays made right there on the farm.... It has turned into an invalueable treasure for me! Not only do my necessities sit on it when stitching, but it keeps all of my finishing trinkets in place when I am completing your pieces... I'm including the Etsy link....
Greetings friends and fellow stitcher~ First and foremost, know that I, like all if you, pray for all the families that have endured, are enduring and are facing the wrath of the fierce storms that are currently taking toll on so many..... The Lord be with all of you... As a side note, I have suspended shipping Carolina Stitcher orders this week so to not jeopardize any lost packages~********************
American Homestead Sewing Set by The Scarlett House, Tanya Brockmeyer was a delightful stitch of a collection of items.. I was drawn to the lady in the front yard holding the American flag... the log cabin and the group of animals.... I love these designs!!Stitched on Oats&Honey by Dixie Sampler Hand dyed linens40 countUsing all specified cotton overdye threadsInstead of the little pillow finish, I opted for a foldover pocket...Inside, I added a slightly padded cushion for special pins and buttons...And the pocket can hold packs of needles, a small ruler or notes...I love putting little extras in my finishing...The chart calls for my little pincushion to be a scissor fob. I made the pincushion because I wanted to make a spooled fob with one of my stork scissor charms....The hornbook was one I've had for a while... Just waiting for the right project... A just-right fit, I'd say!!The beautiful Shaker Tray by LeHay Shaker, rounds out the collection. I cannot say enough about this beautifully handcrafted red shaker tray~ Rob is a master at his trade and as the owner of many of his pieces, I cannot sing his praises loud enough...Again, an old fashioned sewing set for needles, pins, scissors....All nestled in a beautiful tray to display and actually use!****************I made a promise to myself in January that this would be my year of Quaker stitching.... I love the Quaker style and wanted to add to my collection of Quaker samplers and smalls. Threadwork Primitives, Nan Lewis, has a collection of beautiful Quaker Pinwheels that REALLY spoke to me!Using all Specified cotton overdye threadsUsing all specified cotton overdye threadsI loved the stitch so much that I stitched it a second time in a red/brown colorway~ .... pinwheels were actually used to house working pins and special pins back in the 1800's.... My collection is growing.... and again, my LeHay Shaker trays and shaker boxes are perfect to display these small works of art.... I will sign off with a quote from Robert Schuller... "let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future..." Blessings, Faye

I have had requests for a larger zippered bag suitable for your 11" x 11" Q-Snaps... So, I am now offering a 16" x 24" XL bag at 35.00.... Just like my 12" x 15" size, this zippered bag has french seams and is fully lined with a zipper charm. Very roomy to hold larger items.....

September brings on stocking finishes, ornaments galore and a little stitching myself... As I close, I will share a completed project and an ongoing project as I continue dedicating 2017 to my year of Quaker stitching...

Quaker Bird Pinwheel
My dear friend and talented designer, Nan Lewis, has released several Pinwheel designs that are all capturing my heart.... I will be showing the next one, Quaker Clover Pinwheel, very soon.....
And, my big Quaker sampler, Sarah Tatum, has been progressing nicely... I began her Jan.2017 and its my goal to have her completed before years end.....
Sarah Tatum Sampler
Thanks for sticking with me for this long blogpost....
Stay safe, smiling and stitching,....,
Faye
I found fabrics that accented the softer side of the design~
A perfectly sweet stitch, design and finish to use in your displays... or, perhaps as a perfect gift to a fellow stitcher...
Another project I thoroughly enjoyed was the Word Play designs by With thy Needle & Thread...
Feast your eyes on all 12 months!
Each one is unique.... I used a charm on each one that matched a word in the design.... ribbons and seams tapes as well along with dangling buttons or bells....
Novembers bells were a cool copper brown, burnt orange seam tape with a cute pumpkin charm~
October really put me in a Fallish mood....
And, if course, Christmas ornaments are rolling in and out of my door~ This customer stitched the Prairie Schooler Trees... Aren't they adorable??
Trimmed with pom pom trim by Dames of the Needle in the color Nicks Coat...
A co-ordinating ribbon bow with bell.... I used rolled up brown wool felt as the tree trunk...
Well.... more to come soon! I will leave you with a photo of one of my sampler walls... Its a space that is inpirational for me as a stitcher....
Blessings~
