If you ever get a chance to stitch this beautifully crafted Quaker Sampler by Ellen Chester's
"...with my Needle~...", find a Belle Soie that you love, and go for it... That is exactly what I have done here.... This Blue Lagoon shade of the Belle Soie has been rattling around in my cabinet for a while just waiting for the right project....... A stitch that took about a week or so, I cannot wait to get this one framed and hung.....
Quaker Sampling II
..with my Needle..
35 ct Weeks "Straw" linen
Blue Lagoon silk thread by Belle Soie
I loved this flowering urn in the center....
And, a heads up...You will possibly need more than one skein of thread...I consider myself VERY frugal with thread and had little frogging (this time.....) Look, I nearly ran out!!! Just 8 little strands left...Not enough to make the matching pin pillow I had wanted to make....sigh...
I need to get into my WIP basket and pull out another unfinished project that has been waiting for my attention....My "up for a challenge" project must go on...Since this was a new 2011 start/finish for me, I will see what beckons my call next~~~
Have a fantastic weekend everyone~~~

Beautiful! It will be so pretty framed.
Really like this one! May have to put this one on my wish list. It looks great and it will be lovely framed! Great job!!
It's gorgeous! I'm partial to that shade of blue as I love Dutch samplers too.
There is just something about monochromatic samplers that is so satisfying sometimes :O
And Belle Soie is always like butta!!!!
This is absolutely breath taking! It is beautiful. I can't wait to see it framed. Where are you going to hang it? You are welcomed to hang it in my house!!!!

Oh my gosh! Faye, that is SO pretty!! I think I need to invest in some Blue Lagoon. ;) Beautiful job! Your finish is making me itch to work on a monochromatic sampler.
What a beautiful finish! I love that Blue Lagoon for sure - so pretty! Too bad you didn't have enough left for the little pin pillow.
You've convinced me. I'm off to search for this pattern. It is absolutely beautiful!
What a gorgeous piece, Faye! Blue Lagoon was the perfect silk for it!
Gorgeous as always! Too bad about the pin pillow though. Can't wait to see what next surfaces from the WIP pile.
Beautiful work! The Blue Lagoon was a great color choice. I think I may need to stitch this. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous, the colour is lovely. Good luck with your WIP's:))
Gorgeous, Faye. I've had my eye on this design! I should have had Drema put it in my cart last week. Love the color, too.
It's beautiful! I love blues, and your piece looks just fabulous in the shade you chose.
Hi Faye, great finish, congrats! I especially want to thank you for iinput re needing more than a single skein, so helpful to the rest of us:)
Beautiful finish Faye. I have used Blue Lagoon and loved it.
Just beautiful, Faye! I am such a "blue and white" girl, I'll have to remember the name of this thread. Can't wait to see it framed :) Have a lovely weekend (it's raining cats and dogs up here in Pennsylvania)...
Gorgeous Faye!! Congrats on the finish!!
Your Quaker Sampler II is very pretty! I like the Blue Lagoon that you used. Thanks for the tip on needing more than 1 skein.
That is a fabulous color!!!!
Beautiful finish. LOVE the color.
Can't wait to see what you pull out next:))
Have a great weekend.
It is such a charming piece - and THAT blue is special! How do you display your hanging samplers? By style, color, subject ???
A very beautiful piece. And that blue thread is a dream.
Very pretty! I love the fabric with that fiber-a great combo!
Congratulations on this lovely finish - the thread is just perfect for the design!
What a pretty finish! The colour is so lovely!

It is stunning and so so beautiful. What a beautiful shade of blue. I have never used Belle Soie yet. Must try it. x
Beautiful finish Faye. I think that blue is really nice.
Have a great weekend!
That's beautiful, Faye! I can't believe you finished it so quickly. I've had it kitted up with Mer Blue Belle Soie forever. I may have to pull it out after seeing your lovely finish.
FANTABULOUS!!! Lovely, lovely piece!
That is just divine Faye. I agree, that blue floss is just scrumptious! Fabulous finish and I can't wait to see what pops out of your basket next.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful finish...just love the color!
It's gorgeous Faye! I love it!
Great advice Faye, this piece looks gorgeous! I can't wait to see it all framed up, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll be stitching on next. Best wishes.
A very pretty finish. I absolutely love the blue.
Your finish looks awesome, love that colour for silk. I'm with everyone else really looking forward to seeing what comes out of your basket next. I'm curious as to where you find the time to stitch so much, you seem to finish everything in short spaces of time. I'm such a slow stitcher.
gorgeous finish Faye! I love that pattern and color! great job!
Gorgeous finish, Faye! The combination of the floss color and the linen is perfect!
It's just gorgeous, Faye! Congratulations!
I have admired this piece during your progress pics but the finished picture is awesome. It's an absolutley gorgeous piece!! I'm parial to blues too so it's now on my list of must haves.
Faye,
How wonderful it was for you to stumble upon photos of your wonderful Quaker Sampling II! I hope you'll send me photos and a write-up for my blog.
I'm sorry that you ran short of thread....I used 3, 5-yard skeins of Weeks Dye Workes thread Although I didn't use all 3 of the skeins, I had 90 yards of thread at my disposal. If you used Belle Soie which is 12-ply and is in a 5-yard skein, you had 60 yards to use--quite a difference.
I'm confused about the pinkeep you mentioned since the chart doesn't have one. Perhaps you were considering making one using several of the motifs from the charts.
Hope to hear back with you with some photos of your beautiful work!!
Oh that is so lovely! I love the thrad you used for this piece! I don't generally do blue, but I love that one!! Great job....it really makes the sampler stand out.
