Baby....It's cold outside...!

Good chilly Thursday morning!!!

That title says it all!.....It IS cold here in the Carolinas this early morn.....I just had to show you my latest finish..... With my craftroom all a buzz, I had to get a little something sewn up for myself and here are the results...adorning my breakfast table....

Heartstring Samplery
Baby...It's cold outside!...
supplies as specified by designer~one over two~

My dear friend, Lynn Stansfield has the most wonderful fabrics and I LOVE them...Actually I hoard them...But, I pulled out a few to use on this piece....The darker brown and faded red calico are from her....Just MADE for this piece it seems....Your fabrics lended the perfect touch Lynn!!!

This table scarf is 38 inches long....enough to make a statement....

With the snowy scene in the stitch, I couldn't resist using some of my vintage cotton lace as an accent..It helps accent the fluffy white snow falling on the roof of the houses....

Make this a wonderful day......
brrrrr......  Baby, it IS cold outside!...........

Peace,

Faye

Birthday surprises continue....and a finish!

Greetings all!!!  I hope everyone's weekend has been wonderful~~~

I have been super busy in the craft room today....And, of course, cannot reveal those finishes... My customers would probably get a little miffed if YOU saw their pretty stitches finished up, before THEY did!!!

This week, I did receive a wonderful birthday blessing from my dear friend in France, Marylin.. She showered me with surprises from her beautiful country..... She knows I love anything Sajou....
She loaded me up with postcards, needles, thread winders, a CD about her city (love that!), Sajou thread, 2013 purse sized appointment book.... Sajou heaven, I tell ya!!

....This most wonderful Sajou wooden thimble....a total treat!!......

And a gorgeous C mon monde chart....This "mitten" will be my next start....It will be splendid once finished.... and, my challenge will be to crochet the top as shown.....This picture doesn't do the piece justice....More to come on this!....  And, see the hoop in the picture? I normally stitch in hand, but Marylin sent me this Sajou hoop...It is heaven......I've already tried it out on......

This cross stitched finish....

A wonderfully fun stitch.....It was what I stitched this week at nights and after work..... I plan on finishing it into a table scarf to use both at Christmas and throughout the winter....

I leave you with  blessings and prayers for any of you, or your families, who are struggling at this time....Whether it is from the horrible storm Sandy, hardships from this rough economy or stuggles within themselves.... Know you are not alone and many embrace you.....

Peace and smiles,

Faye

Some Sunday finishing......

Greetings everyone!!  I sure do hope your weekend was fantastic and you found some time to stitch a little....I have been working on Sarah Eliz Brooke 1842 but not enough to show you an updated progress photo......But, I did manage to do some finishing today.... I decided that each time I sat down to finish something for a customer, I would finish something for myself.....My ever-growing basket of stitched items needs a little attention!

Here is what I can show you that are MY finishes.... (Abbie, Linda W and KathyR; your finishes will be going out tomorrow in the mail!!)

~~Make it Do~~Thank you Beth Twist~~

Many of us are living our lives by the motto of "making do with what you've got!"... When I saw this freebie listed on Beth Twists blog Friday, I felt like it really must be my weekend project....  Beth stressed that everyone should be creative with their colorways, using threads we had on hand and just putting our own spin on her design....Here is my interpretation....
Make it Do....Heartstring Samplery

I did want to share my exchange piece to Pat (no blog)from a couple weeks ago...She and I had a private exchange and I posted the beautiful BBD piece she stitched for me a couple posts ago.... She notified me that she received my exchange package and here is a peak of what I mailed to her....

Summer Star Pincushion and mini pincushion
A Stitchers Journey
Blackbird Designs

The smaller initial pincushion is for Pat to use in her traveling stitch bag...It is small and just the right size to toss into her bag and have a little something to plant that needle in when changing thread colors... Both are filled with crushed walnut shells...I wanted to show the rickrack detail on the edges...The Robins Egg Blue hand-dyed trims by Victorian Motto matches the BBD designs so well.... I also included one of my homemade pins....

Hope everyone had a great Easter and got back in the routine today....I had alot of fun with family and these two sweeties.....

Have a great week everyone and Happy Stitching...........
