A few things to share...

Well, its finally September and the leaves will be turning...falling...football season to look forward to... nicer weather (hopefully)...

 

Here are a few finishes that I sewed up for Andrea....She agreed to have them shown on my blog and I wanted to show off her AWESOME stitching talent...

Mr Pumpkin Head turned into a small table hanging in my craft room....

 accented with hand dyed wool applique on nice quilt fabric....

 

there were so many nice entries....with very creative finishes....

 

Quick post tonight..... College football is coming on the TV and my K-cup along with my newest project is calling my name....

...a little stitching update.....

Hello to all~~~ I keep reading about lots of you who are getting the kiddos ready to return to school....It IS that time of year! Although we began our 6th week of school today on the Year Round schedule at our school... In about 3 weeks we will be getting ready to pause for a 3 wk break..ahhh..

I was able to celebrate with a couple stitching buds this past weekend by visiting the new and relocated location of  LoneStar Mercantile...What a feast of wools, cross stitching and everything prim....I will have more about this unique and plentiful store in the future...

I was able to gift to dear Linda a set of pouches out of the last of my BlueBerry Crumbcake fabric...I love the medium blue family and she was thrilled to have a new set of project pouches to stuff with newly kitted projects...

Friday fun with finishes....(photo heavy...)

I hope everyone is great this fine Friday!!

I have been finishing up a storm, as we say in the south, and although quite a few are for my customers Christmas gifts (will have show them later...), I do have some I can show today...

Often we have stitched pieces with no idea on how to finish them off...Or, we get in a rut finishing them the same way.... I like to take your gorgeous stitched linens and turn them into creations that you will be proud to display,...

Here are a few photos of finishes of late for customers who gave me thumbs up to show you...

Barb IL is a most expert stitcher...

I like finishing primish patriotics....notice the bronze beaded stars....

I thought corduroy warmed up this snowy piece...

pincushion filled with walnut shells...trimmed with chenille...

mounted on a wooden base.....

the diddie bag finishes have become quite popular.....

as have the simple finishes where the stitches take the stage....

ornaments with wool felt and snowball charms...are you getting ready???

I like to embellish conservatively...

a subtle charm...

tonal lace with small buttons....

I absolutely LOVE my Victorian Motto hand dyed chenille....

April is also a valued customer whose stitches are amazing...

 I thought the key was perfect to add....

twine, old buttons...I love finishing prims..

 the backs often have wool and/or flannels...

I will combine solid and plaid wools for effect....

Debra has given me great reviews on her finished goodies....

And, of course, I HAD to put the VM hand dyed rick rack around the darling Plum Street Sampler ornie pillows.....

Adam & Eve and some sewing...

Greetings all and Happy Sunday morning....

For a couple months now, Terri and Marylin ,along with ,have been stitching a wonderful A&E Sampler SAL....They have completed their samplers and now I have finished stitching mine!! Will teach me to put off all the over one until the last!!!

There was a floss conversion that Terri had determined, as the publication listed Olde Willow Silk threads....none of the three of us had these threads, so here is the conversion that was used...

C = DMC 3354

E = Crescent Colors - Cherry Tomato

F = GAST Lambswool where called for and on the faces.

H = Gast Shutter Green

K = GAST Cinnamon

P = GAST Mountain Mist

S = GAST Green Apple

T = Crescent Colors Green Onion (except for the over one,  GAST Harvest Basket was used so it would show up).

 

This was an absolutely fun stitch and I cannot believe how fast it went considering

 the size....approx 16 x 14 inches...

Back in the saddle again.....

Whew~~!!  It was a lllooonnnnnggg week at work getting back into the swing of things after 3 weeks of spring intercession..... I could SO get used to being retired!  But, after many hugs and loves from my 18 first grade darlings, I knew we'd all get back in the groove of things....and, we did.....

I wanted to show you the little quilt stand I use sometimes to hang finishes that I didn't want to have framed..... It all sits on the far corner of the desk in my craft room.... So, here's a peak....

The wrought iron stand which I purchased from Auntie Ju's Quilt Shoppe, (on the right) allows me to convert some of my stitched items into little "hangings", if you will..... (pssstt... do you also see my lovely collection of little boxes from

Samplers and Santas...?..go take a look....) Anyway, I must admit, this little collection does in fact have a dual purpose..... Not only does it keep my creativity clicking.... It also does this....

It hides the good old Kurieg machine....Java also keeps on track with creativity....so, when I need a cup a joe, I slide the quilt stand over and, there ya go....

Some of you may remember me finishing the Pineberry Lane piece into a hanging that I planned on using here as well....That's what is so nice, you can swap out your stitched pieces for the look you are going for.....

Cool  hunh???

The mailing envelope was still well packaged upon arrival...I was very impressed with this considering the distance it had to travel from the UK....

Enclosed I found...

A clear and ledgible cross stitch chart, which is large in print..I like that!  Pre-wound Maderia thread cards which were clearly labeled. Black 14ct Aida and a needle. My only suggestion to them was to offer their kits in both Aida and linen as buyers may be swayed away from purchasing if not given that option.... Nevertheless,  I was extremely pleased to have been part of this survey and surely look forward to stitching this gorgeous sunflower one day....Thanks again Yiota's for allowing me to participate!!
