Finish, gift....finish, gift.....

Is that title kinda like, "rock, paper scissors"???  I have an weekly update...

First, may I present to you my sweet little Emma Mills 1839... I made the command decision to NOT frame her nor put her into a pillow....Rather, I will press her and lay her in my prim basket..
Emma Mills 1839
40 count Pearled Barley
Overdyed specified cotton threads

Please do NOT look too closely at the back of Emma...but,I did want to show you that I simply blind stitched her hems...

Another sweet finish I mustered up this week was the first of my Praire Schooler Santas...I made a pledge (fingers were crossed behind my back though....tee hee....) to stitch a PS Santa a month in 2012.. Here is my first forthe year, so I'm already a little behind, but oh well.... I chose the very first PS Santa they published because it was waaaaayyy back in 1984, the year our oldest son was born....

Now, I must, must, must show you what my dear sweet French friend, Marylin has sent me from the French Needlework Market  in Paris, France..... You can probably imagine how blown away I was  to see this fantastic box of fresh goodies, hot off the market from across the ocean..... Merci mon Amie... I simply will not know which stitch to make first for these awesome hornbooks!!!!   I simply love these gifts you have spoiled me with~~~~

Look at the cute detail on these hornbooks...I simply love them~~~

And, I was also showered with a sweet Thank you gift from a follower, Pat.... Pat doesn't have a blog herself, however, many of you see her comments posted on your blogs... Pat had borrowed something from me, and when returning it, she tucked in a sweet surprise....Perfect for my red basket.... Love it~

Doesn't it look perfect nestled in there with my other red goodies??.....
Thanks again very much Pat!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend....
Windy and blustery here in North Carolina today...chilly too!

I plan on sewing tomorrow as I have quite a few project pouches to finish and mail out Monday...
Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!!!

~~~~~Emma Mills 1839~~~~~
Hello fellow stitchers and friends....Happy President's Day weekend....
Coming to you from Cherry Grove Beach SC where the day was a  mild 60 degrees...We are bracing for a rain event however.... But, I have plenty of K-cups for the Kureig, lots of stitching kitted up and my sweet beagle (...and hubbie too...) here to keep me company!
I know I said on my last post that Sarah Munday would be my next sampler....But, in fact I lied....As I am waiting for my silk conversions to come together for Sarah, I began stitching a smaller sampler in the meantime.... I had the opportunity to see the stitched piece in October when I met Tanya Brockmeyer of The Scarlett House and of course I fell in love with it~ Emma Mills 1839 has patiently been sitting in my basket waiting....And, now it is her time....
Emma Mills 1839
The Scarlett House
40 ct Pearled Barley
specified overdyed cotton threads
So, that's my start....Will surely look forward to stitching her up this weekend....hopefully...
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend~~
Is that Vermont Country Blend I am smelling in the kitchen???
Many blessings~~~
A start, a finish and pouches.....
Greetings fellow stitchers~~ I have been away from the computer longer than anticipated...But, I have a very good excuse! First, may I say thank you, thank you for all the lovely comments about my recent sampler finish "Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842".. I am humbled and soon I hope to have it framed for display here at the carolinastitcher home....
I have been sewing as much as I can, diligently mailing out project pouches to those of you who contacted me...Today, I managed to finish out all the orders but one...I am still pondering the fabric to use for this dear lady.... But, I was able to sew up a few extras...
These are the smaller pouches good for your scissors, needles and the like.......
These are up for grabs, so email me if you are interested...
approximate size is 5 x 7 inches....
***Edited, These are all spoken for now...Thanks!~***
I have fun picking out a co-ordinated linings..here are a couple peeks..
I also sewed up a project pouches set....I thought this would be perfect Valentine gift to YOURSELF~~
I was able to finish my February CCN Cottage....All I need to do is pop it into the frame...
This is turning into a fun 2012 series....
40 ct light Exampler linen
Gloriana and npi silks
Finally, I was excited about stash diving and locating my copy of Sarah Munday Sampler by Threads of Gold..
After I saw Paulette's blogpost when she was at the Attic, I remembered I had kitted this one up long long ago....I knew it just had to be my next biggie project....
Well, I need to get settled for the night....Downton Abbey will be coming on soon...With this head cold I am nursing, I  will be watching the DVR'd episode tomorrow night!!
Hope everyone has a fantastic week....
brrrr.....Stay warm!!
~~~Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842~~~and my awesome weekend!

Greetings friends and fellow stitchers~~  I wanted to share with you my latest finish....
In all her glory, I present, Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842
by The Scarlett House.........an amazing sampler......

Sarah Eliz. Brooke 1842
The Scarlett House
40 count Vintage Meadow Rue by Lakeside
Belle Soie Silk threads as specified
Started Oct 2011
Finished Jan 2012

Think about it....a  little girl that was only 11 years old stitched this originally....
way back in 1842.....
I find that amazing.....

This was my favorite tree....so different and unusual....
A big thank you goes out to Tanya Brockmeyer for taking this sampler and reproducing it so we could all enjoy it! It will forever remain one of my favorites~~~~

*********************

Now, I need to tell on myself just a little bit.....This past weekend, some of us stitchers in the Carolinas met up for some retail therapy in Statesville NC...Lynn, who many of you met at PALS, invited us to her house for a weekend of fun and fellowship....She has the most fantastic home and is a most gracious hostess...(And she's a brave o le soul taking on this undertacking.....!)
Thanks so so much Lynn for having all of us....

.There was a totally awesome Quilt and Fibers Show in town also........Wools, quilting fabrics galore and many goodies were surveyed and purchased....more about those purchases as time unfolds......

We also did a mini shop hop...First we were off  to Stitch n Frame in Rock Hill SC....This is one of the cutest brick and mortar cross stitch shops I have ever visited....So, if you are in the Charlotte NC area, Stitch n Frame is just south a few country miles.....Well worth the trip! Thanks ladies for welcoming us all in...And, thanks Charlene for meeting us there and "enabling" us all~~~
 Love your LNS!!!

Next, we found our way on up to Salisbury NC where we visited Spring Robin....
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Not only does Robin have ALL the goodies to buy, she has decorated her cute shop with warmth, coziness and it oozes that inviting ambiance that screams "Shop, shop and BUY"!!
Not only did I bust my budget at Spring Robin, but I walked out with a mental list a mile long of "wants".....I WILL be back~ Thanks Robin for helping all of us nuts and laughing along with us~

(Thanks to the 17 of you who have ordered project pouches....I aim to work on and finish up orders this weekend and next week.... Thank you so very much to supporting me!)

Until next time, here's hoping all of you are stitching yourselves away...
Enjoying each and every project....

Many blessings....

Greetings everyone!!  I sure do hope your weekend was fantastic and you found some time to stitch a little....I have been working on Sarah Eliz Brooke 1842 but not enough to show you an updated progress photo......But, I did manage to do some finishing today.... I decided that each time I sat down to finish something for a customer, I would finish something for myself.....My ever-growing basket of stitched items needs a little attention!

Here is what I can show you that are MY finishes.... (Abbie, Linda W and KathyR; your finishes will be going out tomorrow in the mail!!)

Additionally, in 2011, I stitched up the talented Lori of Notforgotton Farms 800th post freebie chart... I love anything Lori designs and this cutie was no exception.....
