My weeks progress.....Anniversaries of the Heart~~~~and a heart~~~~

I wanted to sew up a prim-ish heart to perch under my Valentine tree...I knew I had stitched this little pattern in 2010 (just a motif I stitched from something larger...) and I wanted to try to make one of those pretty prim looking hearts..... Well, here is what I came up with....sitting on top of one of my rusty springs...I added a pocket flap to the front to hold something special...for me, it was one of my favorite pair of  scissors...

Its just a quickie, mind you....

The bulk of my week was spent stitching Anniversaries of the Heart....This piece has become endearing to me and I could hardly put it down...

I managed to finish blocks 7,8 and 9.... This piece of  R & R 36 ct Winter Frost is filling up!!

I have the last chart to stitch before I recieve the new release Pumpkin Farm..

Since we have had such a hard winter in NC this year, I dedicated the block "Winter Garden" to Winter 2011 rather than a person....

The last block I have dedicated to my dear friend Barbara....Our initials are placed beside the banner "happy birthday dear friend"...And since this is her year of strength, and pink, and all things good: those flowering trees in hues of pinks and greens made this block just perfect to commemorate our friendship....

Here's hoping everyone is having a great weekend.....This was our second Saturday in a row having school as a snow makeup day...so, I'm tired.... Pray that the possible snow and ice we may get early next week will fizzle out before getting here....otherwise, I could be looking at Saturday school days for a while!!!!  Hope not~~

Happy stitching everyone

Faye

What a great idea to dedicate Winter Garden to Winter 2011!! We've been having a whopper of a winter too. If I ever get to this piece I may copy you and do the same. I love how you're doing the layout on this one too. It's just gorgeous! I love your little heart finish too. Beautiful! So cute on the rusty spring!

I have been watching several people stitching up the AoH series, and it is so cool to see the differences in them. I really like the way you are dedicating your squares - so nice. How is Barbara doing anyway?

Your stitching is gorgeous and inspiring!!!!! So happy to see your AOTH looking so well...you are so far! I am still on block 1.

Your AOTH is beautiful, and I love the way you are personalizing it. But make up days on Saturday??? That's unheard of here; our schools have a few days built into the calendar, and when they go over, they add them on at the end of the year. I don't know - maybe getting it over with as you go isn't so bad, after all???

You always have the sweetest, heartfelt ideas Faye.
I love your personalization ideas.
Wishing you NO more snow :-)

Such a sweet-heart, Faye! It looks precious alongside your tree. And your AotH is more beautiful every time you show it! I heard tonight that the storm is coming along this way, but it very likely will not be cold enough to cause us much chance of any accumulation. I hope that is true up your way, too. They did say there was snow at the NC coast today. Aren't you glad you weren't there?? Take your Sunday to do only what you want to do...since it's your weekend this week!

Your little heart is adorable, you're very creative! AoH is absolutely breathtaking!! I can see why you can't put it down.
I don't remember my kids ever having to go to school on a Saturday to make up. We had many snowdays too. I think in some cases the school year might have been extended by a week instead.

Your AoH sampler is one of my favourite pieces on the blogging world at the moment, I just love all the colours and the whole design of it. I'm sorry to hear that you have to go into school on Saturdays - that's unthinkable to me :) Happy stitching to you.

No wonder you dedicated the winter garden block to this winter, Faye--you sure have had a crazy one. And school on Saturday--I never heard of that! They just keep our kids going longer into June to make up for snow days...

Your whole piece is amazing--I can see why it has become so special to you. Enjoy stitching those last few blocks :)

Wishing you a snowless week!!

Love your primitive heart! So adorable! Got any tips for stitching hearts? I've got one of my own I'm going to need to turn into a little ornament for my DH. I'm always amazed at how much you stitch and the beautiful smalls you make!
